"I had high hopes and expectations for Crystal Dynamics "Shadow of the Tomb Raider". However, the game ends up being nothing more than a really big disappointment of a "Tomb Raider" game, and this is the reason why." - Sharn Daniels, TGG.
That's honestly can be said for all the 3rd era TR games.
I'm in the middle of playing it and wow it's boring, the same over and over again.
I agree the worse in the trilogy
Lol no just no. People wanted tombs to raid so they gave us nine huge tombs with fun and fair puzzles with rewards at the end that actually make sense and that’s not even mentioning the tombs you go to for the main story which are plentiful and crypts which besides one in the first hub area are like mini tombs, people wanted combat to not be such a focus so they scaled the gunfights back big time, people wanted underwater exploring back so they gave us tons of underwater exploration and raiding, the story while still not great is easily the best of the three new games with the second game rise being the absolute low point, they let you tailor the difficulty to your liking and platforming isn’t so obvious and automatic anymore and the setting is easily the best location out of the trilogy.
I liked the game but the ending was disappointing it honestly does not feel like an ending to the trilogy
A friend recommended RotTR to me and I was so disappointed. The reboot TR showed promise. I'm glad I didn't go near this one.
TR is a fantastic franshise and i have enjoied every moment of it. sure i will too here.
Why the hell didn't she pick up two guns at the end. (angry joe) Its the same game as previous two. Terrible AI. I'll pass on this one.
I'm enjoying it!
I enjoyed it overall, but it is repetitive. Very disappointed with no dual pistol. Spoiler....... Very disappointed with the helicopter scenes especially the one b4 going to the last hub , I literally just used some cover and didn't have to move and shot about 5 barrels and that was it. Animal battles were crap, enjoyed the stealth gameplay though. If you enjoyed the first 2 reboots you'll enjoy this one but it is exactly the same repetitive hub areas etc.
I liked it, but Rise was a tiny tad better IMO.
Rise imo is easily the worst of the trilogy. I would rank them shadow, tomb raider and then rise
I really loved ROTTR but I just haven't felt an attachment or interest in this one at all. I'll pick it up when its budget price.
Honestly, it certainly isnt as good as the first 2. The one thing it excels at are the puzzles. But the combat gets a bit boring and the story is just not that interesting (in the middle at least).
How isn’t it better then the first two especially rise which is so average. It easily has the most and best tombs of the trilogy, the story while not great is easily the best of the trilogy and actually has you tomb raiding almost every mission, the combat was scaled way back, the setting is imo the best of the trilogy, the platforming isn’t obvious and automatic anymore and it brought back underwater exploration and raiding from the og games which was a big plus.
First off, I legit explain why I think it’s not as good. Secondly, it’s an opinion.
You didn’t really explain though. The combat is pretty much the same as the other two just more refined and having some new options and the story isn’t great but it’s easily better than the first two games stories especially rise which was just horrible
Gamers are too used to combat heavy games these days. They gave the fans what they asked for more tombs more exploration less focus on combat and everyone moans. I guess it won't be long before every game is identical. I personally think this is the best one of the three. It's far from perfect but you crank the difficulty up and lose yourself on the jungle and the puzzles and it's the closest tomb raider to what tomb raider was originally.
Exactly the same thing I said above lol. It’s like they gave everyone that was complaining what they wanted and now they are complaining about having it it’s just lose lose for them
They should've added more tombs and kept the focus on combat as is, instead of making it less. I still enjoyed all 3 though.
I don't get the hate. I really am enjoying it.
I liked this series, and while I respect the 3rd one for being the biggest, and most challenging, the 2nd one had the perfect balance
????? i for one enjoying it
I like the jungle setting and 'predator Lara' but that's really about it. It was an OK game at best.
