Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Returns to NPD Best-Sellers List Due to XB1 Backwards Compatibility

Just a few weeks ago, we reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 received the Xbox One backwards compatibility treatment. It seems it’s going over way better than anyone could have expected as the Xbox 360 version of the game managed to sell a lot!

The story is too old to be commented.

1. Thought the point of bc(and bragging point per Sony’s mini console) was to not have to rebuy old games.
2. How is used games being tracked and effecting npd? Because who in their right mind would be buying new retail copies?
Or is this just another made up fluff piece?

Digital, people like not using discs and cheap enough to make it worth it.

If you had the disc you can play it. If you owned it digitally for 360 you could play it. They tracked the new digital sales. It's not just an old game as it takes advantage of the hardware for more targeted performance

That is pretty impressive. Wow.
I own this game on ps3 and did consider getting it again for the 360 to play on the Xbone. There's too many hackers on ps3.
I was looking for it for like $5 bucks used on redbox or something, not brand new.

I agree, the PS3 version is nearly unplayable at this point. The 360 version still has hackers, but nowhere near as bad as the PS3 version. It's a shame, I wish companies could at the very least monitor their servers. With all the money Activision has, they should hire some "community babysitters" and make sure no one's cheating online. If they have the decency to keep their servers online, they should at least make sure they're playable.
