People shouldn't be surprised that systems like the Switch are getting hacked. They should be surprised (and worried?) at how fast it is happening nowadays.
Since 1972, video games in the home have been changing pop culture as we know it, but what's the best video game console of all time?
Ok 25 are too many but then again so many consoles have been released throughout the years.
If I had to choose 5, I would pick N64, PS1, Switch, Dreamcast and Gamecube (based on the time I spent playing with friends on consoles).
For home consoles (not handhelds) I have created a mini interactive encyclopedia here as a hobby

Video games have a fascinating history
Commodore Amiga CD32 was an amazing piece of kit with the jump from floppy to compact disc it were like witchcraft I'll tell ya
The PS1 was probably the most exciting for me.
SNES, Sega CD, and everything else in the 90's were also very exciting. Just an exciting decade all around with some absolutely fantastic gaming.
Wow, can’t believe they whittled this list down to only 25. I was trying to make a list of the best U.S. states and could only whittle it down to 50.
PS1-5 and the NES are the top 6 consoles. Since Nintendo hasn't done anything different since the NES, the NES is the one to beat.
The top 2 are PS1 and PS4.
Holiday Long Read | Retro Gamer spoke to NES vets on 8-bit coding, sprites, and the future of the old-school console
Today we take on the King and Queen of all video games. Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man. With the huge popularity of these arcade games, gave birth to lots of ports in the 80's and still on to this day. That is the impact Pac Man had and still does. Everyone knows who Pac Man is!
Whole reason Nintendo did the new thing is so people can play online and voice chat.........all these people doing is just adding a game that have no voice chat or online play to it, it's just the same game someone can play on a emulator
Now if he can hack the game to add online play then this hacking thing would be cool but as of now its just whack
I hope Nintendo add online to Mario kart 64 i know all the shortcuts
Im interested in hacking mine if only to back up my saves without paying for it. It is a basic function of most consoles.
The more its hacked the more it sells.
the reason is simple. nintendo is not acknowledging anything besides themselves. they are convinced that they are still the market, like in 1982. they got no clue that they are decades behind the competition and that therefore today‘s hacker-punks got no problem cracking this ancient tech. personally, i don‘t even want their stuff for free, so...
It's Nintendo, so no.
