Destiny 2: Forsaken has reminded me why I love the franchise

Destiny 2 was meh at best at launch, but with the Forsaken update it looks like Bungie is trying to bring back casual and hardcore gamers alike.

Strange, I thought it was ok at launch at it gets progressively more "meh" as time goes on. Maybe I'm different because I don't give Bungie any credit for bringing back things from the first game because they should have been in it to begin with and I'm certainly not going to pay them more money to do that.

Wait, so did you play Forsaken and it's "meh" or did you not pay them more money and stay away?

I agree they stripped out base gameplay that made the first fun but this is a great dl c for any fan. Better than The Taken King when it turned D1 around.

Bring back the casual? HA. I'm a casual and I have to purchase the first 2 expansions (which I do not want) to be able to even purchase forsaken. Note to Bungie: if you want the casuals to return, then make the first 2 expansions free. It's half price but still £15 to buy them bundled together. Then at least £35 for forsaken. If you ask me £50 is far too much for a casual to put down on a expansion.

Kyizen2471d ago

Huh? You can buy the complete package for the same price as the vanilla game.

They were free during the last sale

The irony here is that you get a free boost with Forsaken too allowing you to skip the expansion content. Warmind isn't bad to be fair but Bungie would have to pay me to go through the Curse of Osiris missions again, they're horrible.

PapaBop2471d ago

What's that, paying full price at launch then another £70 in order to get a complete experience? Well I guess that's distinctively Destiny, it's exactly what happened with the original too!

uh huh. i thought destiny 1 was mediocre at best and refrained from further supporting this franchise. a few people still bought it though. i guess they are still believing in the good of game devs ;-) or that they are able to change for the better when all they are interested in is your open wallet ;-)

After getting burned twice Im not falling for it again.

Lol everytime I see down votes when people state facts like these I lose complete faith in humanity.

I remember getting a PC code for the base game off Amazon for $15 not long after release. Played for 20 hours and gave up on it. Leveling felt lackluster and all the "classes" felt the same.

I know they have sub-classes now, so I guess there's more variance to be had.
