11-11: Memories Retold Creative Director Yoan Fanise feels that God of War has been good for the industry, as it helped highlight the value of single-player games.
Hell yeah it is! Well made narrative driven games will always resonate!!!!
And amazing gameplay to go along with it too....i freakin love this game.
Amazing indeed! In my third walkthrough after finish the game in god of war mode and got the platinum!!
The great thing about GOW PS4 is that it is a totally different game from all the other GOW games in terms of gameplay, presentation, story, and everything. A total reinvention of the franchise.
It is impressive just how deep the combat is! There's so many layers to it and the game world is so rich with so many secrets!
Only 2 contenders for GOTY and it’s Red dead redemption or GoW.
Hopefully it will shut up all those people who kept saying single player games are dead.
One of the best games I've played in a long time. Absolutely great for the industry.
Hell yeah. Every game that takes huges risks and succeds is good for teh industry. GoW actually came in the right time where EA and MS eant to badmouth SP games and push for service games. Sony stilly proving there’s money to be made in SP games. Make a quality game, and it will sell. No need for predatory practices
I rally around devs and publishers who take the risk and develop well made SP games! So it is great when they succeed and show the naysayers who seem to be more interested in their bottom line then creating something creative and fresh that will also bring in the cash!!!
Cant praise this game enough. Such a radical change but still familiar and the best storytelling yet in the series. I actually wanted to learn as much as I could about all the characters and if you finished the game you know what fate awaits kratos just gotta wonder will it happen or will he and his son change fate.
Nice that GOW took a chance and it worked out for them. I’m really impressed with what they did to the franchise. Oh and single player games are not dead. :)
It is a risk that paid off.
I miss all the random AA single player games, like Apocalypse, ODT, C12, Red Faction and so on. Some turned out really well, but not many devs take the risk anymore. It's either AAA exclusives, established series or indie games. Bring back AA hits.
There are loads of room for all these gaming experiences. But everyone keeps running after the same band wagon.
What SSM was able to accomplish with this game is incredible. Completely changing up the dynamics of the game while continuing the existing story and not rebooting it. Another finger to anyone who says single player is dying.
8th gen gold standard.
One of the best things in the industry i'd say
Just wait until The last of us 2 comes out ☺️
The single player experience is still king. Always will be, with games like GoW the proof is right there.
I'm glad God of War came to save single player games after the tragedy of 2017 when Star Wars Battlefront 2 deleted NieR Automata, Nioh, Yakuza 0, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, Wolfenstein 2, Resident Evil 7, Gravity Rush 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Cuphead, Prey, South Park Fractured But Whole, Hellblade, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, The Evil Within 2, Uncharted The Lost legacy, A Hat in Time and a ton of other indie games from existence. I was very scared single player games were not going to be made anymore, good thing God of War renewed their existence.
God of War is great.
It’s the best game on the PS4 so of course it’s a good thing, for everyone.
A masterpiece and my GOTY so far for this year.
I'm in my 40's and for me these sort of games only come once in a blue moon. I felt like a kid again playing the new God of War. You know it's a really good game when you wake up in the morning and the first thing you think of is, I can't wait to play that game again!
Pre-PS3 I loved God of War on both PS2 and Vita. On the PS3 God of War was good but not great. So I had low expectations for this one. Now, I am back to loving God of War again. Thank you for fixing the series Sony!
