EGM Now: If you were to ask me what my all-time favorite wrestling games are, I’d give you two answers: Aki’s efforts on the Nintendo 64, and the Fire Pro Wrestling franchise. Those answers haven’t changed for 20 years, and that’s because—to me, and many others—they remain the best examples we’ve seen of developers truly understanding the sport of wrestling and how to translate it to the world of video games.
A big part of the success of the Fire Pro games has been its expansive mod culture and the Parts Craft DLC lets PS4 owners get a step closer to that, exporting wrestler part data to PC, then editing and sharing it on FPW Net as custom edit parts.
Fed up with WWE 2k? Don't let the 2.5D graphics fool you. Its the most realistic wrestling game on the market. Fire Pro Wrestling World is waiting for you with open arms. Come join the fire pro community on reddit and discord. Use your own custom soundtracks in game, custom wrestlers, Promoter mode(GM), two story modes, CPU behavior logic editing, rings, mods(PC), entire body parts, limbs, logos, faces, and coming soon custom moves.....This game is about fun gameplay, creating, editing, simming, testing. Not a perfect wrestling game, but its the absolute best on the market. Even if you don't play wrestling games you just might like it.
It is probably the best wrestling game out there this gen.
I think if someone did a gameplay of the n64 games w the customization of fire pro I’d be in video game wrestling heaven.
Still having a hard time w the gameplay but I’m slowly getting better.
I won't say it is "the best" wrestling game out there. If you are a wrestling fan, it is a must own. It still comes up short in some areas, Showmanship, Match type etc. It does make up for that with the best AI system ever in a wrestling game.
After a 10-year hiatus Fire Pro Wrestling returns with improved graphics, updated features and online matchmaking connecting players from around the world.
Train with the legendary luchadore Jyushin Thunder Liger in the brand new Fighting Road Jr Heavyweight DLC Pack.
Great review, I'm excited to pick this up. The custom soundtrack feature is just the icing on the cake.
