James Martin previews The Cycle, writing: "...Yager has taken the typical formula for battle royale and given it a few adjustments. Rather than only contending with other players, you have the environment to be wary of too. There are a few variations of monsters roaming the forests and other biomes. You are given missions to complete on your time on the planet Fortuna III, which are essentially variations of the same thing. Extract some gas; extract some ore; extract some rare animal DNA."
Yager Development is giving back to the community of The Cycle, literally. With the second edition of the game is in closed beta testing at the moment, the first edition is now gone forever, having shuttered yesterday.
The Cycle is a unique game that released in 2019. Dubbed as a "competitive quest shooter" by the developers, players will compete to climb the leaderboard by completing both PvE and PvP contracts in 20-minute matches. Yager announced at Gamescom that it is bringing the competitive quest shooter The Cycle to Steam in Q4 2020. The game is also leaving early access at the Epic Games Store and will support crossplay with Steam.
Not really. If this crossplay use EOS and the work in the similar style of Killing Floor 2 crossplay. Then it will require Steam users (and only Steam users) to create a Epic Games Store account and log into said account in order to use it.
So it's basically Epic using Steam users in order to inflate their own store user numbers.
Thats the choice of the devs tho, borderlands 3 also has crossplay and asks users of both storefronts to create a Gearbox ID

That is because the developers created their own ID system to manage the crossplay. But that is not a viable alternative to a indie game like this one.
Has boggled my mind for years. Like I remember saying when Advance Warfare released on Windows store and steam and they couldn't play with each other. So not long after release Windows store buyers could hardly get into a match due to hardly anyone being online.
