You couldn’t pay me to play Destiny but I don’t speak for everyone. The twin stick coop shooter on Xbox looks fun but PS+ definitely has the better offering. Looks like Microsoft put their stake in Games with Gold for September.

PS Plus was worse in August, it's far better in September and overall has been significantly better this year. I think the competition between Sony and MS here has really benefited consumers though. It's risky to organise a mediocre offering when you know that the other side can show you up.

I get it…If your main reason for paying for these subscription services is for the online features…then the games would seem to be "free"…But you can't assume that your reason for paying for the subscriptions is the same reason other's pay…If other's pay specifically for the games, then the games wouldn't seem "free"

It's just the vernacular. You're being way too pedantic. My younger brother only plays PC and uses the same argument that you're using all the time due to his grudge against consoles. "It's not free!" He has no issue referring to calls and texts on his current mobile plan as "FREE" though and begrudges me for pointing this out. It's just the way that normal people speak, guys. Calm down.

Honestly, it's like seeing a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" sign and screaming, "If I have to buy 2 first then it's not fucking free then, is it?" If you don't believe that people should have to pay a subscription to play online on consoles, then that's a fair argument but this "Not free! NOT FREE!" thing is just petty.

The thing is though, to most of us, they are freebies. If you game online on console then you're going to be buying a subscription anyway regardless of the free games.

uptownsoul, i saved so many money this year because of PS+ lower cost of bought games, that it could easily cover next year's subscription, let alone i get online, more storage and FREE games, plus additional packs for games like H1Z1, Fortnite and so on..

I’m with you man. They’re not free. The vernacular should really be “free with a paid subscription” because that’s really what it is. Companies try to hide things so often and use sneaky terminology. We all know how Plus works but I just find it sad that people leave things out and then get mad at people for correcting them

You might get away with the it's not free argument last gen where you did pay a subscription for games and not for online access.
I don't think I know anyone this gen who pays for plus for the games only to stay offline.

Physical copies of destiny 2 (bestbuy, walmart) have been on sale for 4.99 to 5.99 a few times. Got my copy at Best Buy for $5. Gow is $10 often. I got both these games for $15 total. Just look around. Ps plus giving great games this month just not worth what they are claiming.

I do like the fact that Sony likes to balance out their months between lesser-known lower-rated titles, and AAA titles. It gives each month a lot of variety and different kinds of titles. I know months like February and August for PS Plus got a lot of flack for announcing titles that were lacking in quality, but I actually appreciate that they're willing to give lesser titles a spotlight.

Balance and variety helps a lot, in my opinion.

PS+ has had some phenomenal months in recent... months. Gold just hasn't been adding up with its offerings. Warhammer Vermintide wasn't too long ago, but everything else has been meh'ish.

Playstation wins hands down. The thing that made me scratch my head and laugh was when they put the retail value of Destiny 2 as 59.99. LOL. Walmart and every other store has it at about 19.99
