i guess that means it’s a timed exclusive then like nier and crash etc

Christopher2217d ago

Timed exclusive...

Exclusive...

A game that isn't exclusive is suddenly a timed exclusive...

Abriael2217d ago

Yep. I don't think there have been any exclusivity deals in place. Simply Square Enix started development on the platforms that made most sense at that time, and they're willing to expand down the line.

Kribwalker2217d ago

people have been calling it exclusive since it was announced last year

https://gamingbolt.com/ps4-...

https://gamingbolt.com/left...

and every article about speaks of it coming only to PS4 and PC, So i figured it would be considered an exclusive

CrimsonWing692217d ago

I’m with you, the marketing shenanigans of this gen are redonkulous. If it’s exclusive then that means it’s exclusive to whatever platform. Don’t give us this “timed exclusive” “console exclusive” bull crap.

Christopher2217d ago

***and every article about speaks of it coming only to PS4 and PC, So i figured it would be considered an exclusive***

Only to PS4 and PC, and yet it's still exclusive...

We as a gaming community really need to stop using words improperly to ignore PC as a platform.

sinspirit2217d ago

@Kribwalker

Timed exclusive means it has an obligated time before release on another platform. They don't have that restriction.

Sounds like they simply chose to focus on the two main platforms first.
Happens with a lot of smaller titles, especially Indies without a deal to launch first on platform A or B.

It does look really interesting. It combines so many awesome artistic visions for futuristic and gritty sci-fi (Armored Core, Metal Gear Solid, Ghost in the Shell, Gundam, etc.) We don't know how big of a team they're using though. The screenshots look nice but not as high quality as other SE games. SE was hesitant on FF15 for XBox. It's just the way it is for some Japanese developers. They will wait for other regions sales on main platforms to gage interest beforehand.

Abriael2217d ago

@Kribwalker: it's not "people," it's a very specific site. That says it all :D

...and PUBG and Rise of the Tomb Raider and Dead Rising 4 and…..

Godmars2902217d ago

More like they have little to no confidence, are waiting to see if its popular, then put it on the Xbox.

NotanotherReboot2217d ago

and Yakuza, Hellblade + Persona ( I predict)

Srhalo2217d ago

Don't hold your breath.

doggo842217d ago

Persona 5 is not going to another platform

Timed exclusive? Not reàlly sq just chose to release on PS4 and PC.

PhoenixUp2217d ago

Square Enix hasn’t released a big budget game as an exclusive in the longest time

Teflon022217d ago

Basically if it's successful and makes alot, they'll milk it more. Also if it fails they'll half ass port it to try make back what they lost. If it does okay, they won't risk losing money on a port lol. That's how Square Enix works. No way a successful game can be released on 1 console only. Also they'll release it 400 times if they need to in the case that it fails lol. But it do decent and only barely breaks even, they'll say no way on another release as it might drop profits lol. They'll leave it like that lol

Generation Zero is way better after updates. I completely agree it was broken/buggy at launch. As of today. It's my most played game in the last month. Smooth controls, terrifying stealth moments, and a massive world to explore make it worth trying in 2020.

CoNn3rB1726d ago

Can't really argue with most of the games but I'm not too sure about Mario Kart mobile being on here, as far as I'm aware it's really popular. I've never played it to be fair

Red Dead 2 should be on here as well. The game literally did not work or launch for some people. Rockstar launcher crashes. Game still randomly crashes. Mouse cursor glitches. One of the worst PC ports in recent years. you would think a big budget game like rdr2 R* would give a damn lazy port ffs

MadLad1730d ago

Which is sad, being their ports for Max Payne 3 and GTAV were freaking fantastic.

PCgamer981730d ago

Since the latest update the game runs great on me and I don't even have a beefy system, it also barely crashes. Only issue I had with it is the fps would drop randomly for a few seconds which I think was an issue with vulkan, but all in all I'm really enjoying the steam version.
