How The Nintendo Switch Has Changed Indie Gaming

Indie games were good seven years ago, but today they are much better. The Nintendo Switch was built to play these kinds of games on.

I find it hilarious how Gears for Breakfast made a big about not being bullied into porting A Hat in Time to Switch, only to later realize they can’t ignore the potential success of indies on NS and ported it there anyway

I mean I guess it took what the Vita did and then exploded it ten-fold. Switch is super attractive for indie developers.

Cant see what the Switch has done to be honest PC, PS4 and Xbox have had a bigger impact, Switch is just carrying that on.

It's that indie sales for the Switch are outdoing all other platforms in many cases by 2 to 3 times. And of course in the case of Blossom tales it sold 20 times the amount of the steam version.

That has not been heard of from other systems even when the PS4 was being touted as the indie friendly system.

It's basically become a mandatory system if youre an indie dev.
