Rob Pitt writes: I’ve played a few roguelike games recently, from the easy 2D style of Devious Dungeon all the way to the brutal The Persistence on PSVR. Recently I got my hands on the glorious Dead Cells from Motion Twin and I can happily say that it’s probably the best 2D roguelike game I’ve ever played in both it’s graphical style and it’s addictive nature.
However, Dead Cells isn’t an easy game – it’s a brutal roguelike which finds pleasure in stripping you of everything you have acquired if you don’t make it to the next safe room. It then proceeds to send you back to the beginning of the game as you, quite literally, become reborn.
The End is Near is finally here on PC and console, as Motion Twin and Evil Empire say goodbye to Dead Cells.

blasphemous 1 for me.
i love the artstyle and how they didnt shy away from their imagery
but symphony of the night is also superb
Catlevanias GBA and DS games are the best! But there others that I like a lot such as Hollow Knight, Chasm etc
As much as I want Silksong, adding it to the BEST is a little premature. It's not even out yet.

There is more than just Journey and Ori. Ultimately i believe Dead Cells will be a massive success even though nobody cares for it on N4G. PS4 and Switch along with the huge PC following plus 92 Metacritic are too much to ignore. However, it's the other indies that get lost in the cracks. Adult Swim releases Death's Gambit on the 14th and it will be good, but i fear the PS4 console exclusive will fly under the radar just as Omensight did.
