I've never had someone get angry with me during my time playing FFXIV but then again I only ever got to lvl 30, kinda surprised PUBG/Dota 2/CS didn't make the list.

I haven't even after 30. The game does a great job of not allowing things to get too bad. Everyone I've seen is pretty helpful and won't try to rush you if you want to watch the cutscenes. Never had anyone just unexpectedly bail because of one person and screw over everyone else. I've seen people in WoW do that...

...which makes me wonder about this article. He mentions OW's toxicity, yet say that Blizzard is working on cleaning it up. Which isn't exactly true. given what people seeing Blizzard addressing isn't the pure toxicity, but catering to extreme authoritarians as to what THEY consider "toxic". WoW, though, can get extremely toxic, which you don't have to go far to see how people will argue about EVERYTHING in the game. I've never seen anyone in FF14 cry as much that flying mounts exists as I do with the WoW community, or be as super elitist as WoW can get at times, or a PvP match that didn't break down in arguments as to whose fault a loss is two seconds after a match began (as if they care because they are going to the center to get kill counts up), the way loot drops are handled have always been horrible, and I know I've been booted before because I made a few mistakes in dungeon boss fights because there are several people who don't care to help anyone (and yes, even saying THAT breeds an entire toxic argument like everything else does about what exists in the game).

Sounds like he's a Blizzard fan throwing shade to WoW's main competition hoping someone whose actually PLAYED the game wouldn't take notice.

It all depends, right. I was playing PUBG waiting to drop, and before the F prompt even showed up there was just some guy repeating a racial slur. I don't care about pronouns, safe spaces are stupid and all that hyper SJW crap, though with that being said I really don't think using racist language is helpful in growing the scene around video games, competitive gaming or just how people think of "gamers" as a collective. I also just don't feel it paints the "White Hetero male" in a positive way, we have enough issues as it is to deal with and adding to that fire does absolute nothing but paint us all negatively.

People get angry in games, we both understand this. I'm no saint, I've gotten angry during my fair share of online games before. I just feel going for the racial slur, or something about someones sexuality is just the easy "basic" thing. We have all these words that we can use in the english language, and we have a boat load of them to insult one another it's not hard finding something else.

Any game that is MP focused it’s one of the reasons I only play SP games, not that there isn’t any toxicity in SP games but dear god it’s unnecessary cruel in online games.
