Sega wants you to know that "real yakuza" use a gamepad

Yakuza 0 finally came to PC today, with full mouse and keyboard support. But that’s not how you want to play a hardcore Japanese crime game. Nah, PC inputs are for suckers. At least, that’s what Sega wants you to think, since there’s a giant splash image when you launch the game reminding you that “real yakuza use a gamepad” - not mouse and keyboard.

Playing with a controller for this game is highly advised

Is this game a good starting point for Yakuza games? I have 3 and 4 (or 4 and 5, don't remember) on ps3 from playstation plus. Don't know anything about the Yakuza series.

It's the best place to start lol. It's literally the prequel to the first game in the series. So chronologically it's the first game. The only issue is that the other games might feel a little dated afterwards and lacking some features. Luckily they remade the first 2 games to make them more modern.

Yep its a starting point before it all begins in number one. Its the perfect one

Yakuza 3 is a pretty good starting place because it gives you basically a movie summarizing Yakuza 1 and 2 in lengthy movies.

I love mouse and keyboard for third person games, unless mouse movement has a bunch of acceleration meant for gamepads.

Housemarque Reveals It Has No Plans For Live Service Or Free-To-Play Title

Ilari Kuittinen and Gregory Louden of Returnal developer Housemarque have revealed during an interview with Eurogamer at the studio’s 30th anniversary event last week that it has no plans to develop live-service or free-to-play games, “as long as people are buying premium games.”

kpgs5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

Why would they change? That's not where their expertise is.

Redgrave3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

Didn't stop Sony after acquiring Bluepoint, taking them from renowned remaster and remake quality and sticking them on a GoW live service title that never even went anywhere.

I can't speak to what gives Housemarque the ability to be different, but let's be thankful that they are able to do so in wake of current Sony.

Cellblock113h ago

Well whats different about Housemarque which Sony also owns that they can tell Sony what they will and wont do but the others couldn't?

While i appreciate the gesture.... all of these retro classics have been made available everywhere else. I am hoping to see some other Activision properties make their way out of the shackles of the 5th, 6th and 7th gen. Licensing be damned... bring back the Transformers Cybertron games.

Love the Cybertron games! TF games have been shit lately. Would love to see that era revisited. I even did the multiplayer!

It’s a HELL of a game. If you like JRPGs in the family of Persona, you will be in heaven… that is until you hear the various battle music…. then you’ll be somewhere BEYOND heaven!
