IGN: Portal: Still Alive Review

If you didn't play The Orange Box, you missed out on that experience, and now's your chance to do so. If you've already played Portal, however, the draw of Still Alive is less clear-cut. If you're mainly interested in the humor and atmosphere of the original, you might be disappointed with this download. And if the puzzles are more your thing, there's definitely a lot of extra content here, but at a hefty price that PC gamers didn't have to pay.

Lord Shuhei Yoshida3652d ago

Failble 2 got Killzoned by GlaDos

Nintendo Rep3652d ago

That's almost like Socom beating Motorstorm 2... Oh wait... none of those got very high scores did they...

ambientFLIER3652d ago

Yeah, a 360 download. Lol. This game just got a better score than every psn and ps3 game out there. Nice.

chaosatom3652d ago (Edited 3652d ago )

wasn't there a limit or they bypassed it/

El_Colombiano3652d ago (Edited 3652d ago )

It's Valve. Microsoft would grab their ankles for Valve, as would Valve do for Microsoft.

Either way, its only a good thing. This game is awesome, so the sequel, if that, would rock too. Microsoft nabbed a nice timed-exclusive.

Nintendo Rep3652d ago

Who wouldn't grab ankles for the inevitable cash flow that comes in after release? Hell I do it time from time for Nintendo, sometimes I volunteer myself!

Bnet3433652d ago

They let some people bypass the limit like Capcom. They gave Capcom more space for Super Street Fighter Turbo HD Remix Hyper Combo Alpha Mega Super Part Douche.

TheIneffableBob3652d ago

Too bad it's basically the original Portal and the free Portal: The Flash Version map pack.

Stealth troll FTW!

Actually no, I take that back.

Blatant troll FTW!

Let me take that back once more.

Blatant troll FTL!

y0haN3652d ago

He's right though. I can play this for free on my PC with the original Portal, yet they want to charge people for something that's free elsewhere?

Nintendo Rep3652d ago

Really? I didn't realize Portal was free. On my Steam it says it's $19.99. I'm sure you can get the flash version maps on it if you already paid 20 bucks for it. But why not pay $20 for it on the Xbox 360?

TheIneffableBob3652d ago

Uh, because we already bought The Orange Box?

Bnet3433652d ago

If you bought the Orange Box, then you don't need to buy this.

I'm glad to see this score.

I can't wait to keep playing this.

360 exclusive makes me a little depressed though...

El_Colombiano3652d ago

It's timed, I have already put money on it. Plus, this and Left For Dead is timed. Valve can not ignore the PS3 user base, its far too big now.

TheIneffableBob3652d ago

This is not 360 exclusive.

The Portal: The Flash Version map pack, which is free, has been available for download for the PC version of Portal for months now.

Nintendo Rep3652d ago

Correction: It's console exclusive. Just because it's on the PC doesn't mean it's on the PS3.

TheIneffableBob3652d ago

Console exclusive makes no sense.

So, what, are all PC games PC exclusive?

"Halo 1 and 2 - only on PC! (Except they're also on the Xbox)"
Doesn't make much sense, now does it?

Nintendo Rep3652d ago

Yes it does make sense, it's very straight forward. It is exclusive to a specific console, and a PC. This is also very important to people who's computers are not to up the standards of gaming and rather have on their Xbox 360s where they can carry it around with them where ever they go. You know, for convenience. I rather play it on my Wii but w/e I'll play it on my 360.
