Warner Bros today released a free game improvement update for Middle-earth: Shadow of War, featuring a host of new enhancements and content to provide existing players and newcomers.
But, do you have to pay for that patch?!
The subtitle says it's a free improvement update...
I think he was just trolling so you shouldn't have answered that.
Sarcasm eludes you
We still love you
I bought the first one and skipped this one. I'm a little more willing to pick it up now, now that they've made all these improvements.
Lol, that's a good one. Ultimately a great concept for a game but I stopped playing when I heard about the late game paywall. This makes me want to go back and finish.
That legit made me laugh out loud! 😂
For many this is too little , too late I am afraid.
Yup, after milking the cow dry, they throw it away. How honorable. Gamers totally respect you now, WB. I bet loot drops were improved as well, just to prove how the presence of microtransactions screw balance design.
Yep, I've long since moved on from any thoughts of playing that game. It's a shame too as the first title was decent. The nemesis system was pretty cool. But unfortunately WB tried to capitalize on a bad idea and it destroyed all interest for me.
After everyone is done playing the game. Nice. So time to buy a cheap second hand copy. Save money and spite the publisher.
Damn this game was just on sale...or it's out still on sale on psn?
It was $9.99 at gamestop few weeks back and is always on sale Buy the regular version the dlc isn't worth it from what I understand
Well since DLC was a thing its amost rare to called one a worth DLC: The witcher 3 expansions, maybe Ignis episode FFXV, maybe , Dying Light, Horizon Zero Dawn, RE5 revisiting RE1 -DLC and Infamous 2.
True most are not worth it
“Warner Bros today released a free game improvement update for Middle-earth: Shadow of War” Oh the irony...
Even without microtransactions SoW is one of the most boring AAA games ever made.
I might buy it used now on Gamefly if/when its cheap.
Here's an interesting concept, A company puts loot boxes and micro transactions into their game when they release it. Then after the hype and controversy dies down and they have made their money, they claim to remove the loot boxes and micro transactions for the fans, which makes them look good for their next release. Which will start out having loot boxes and micro transactions. Rinse and repeat.
That’s why I stopped buying games with micro transactions. People should stop supporting that bs. I watching you EA... I will never forget. Lol
Too late,Warner. You blew it
Time to pick this bad boy up! Used, of course.
Shame it's taken them so long, the game is actually pretty good but the Shadow Wars soured the experience for me and was clearly the main driving force for the Marketplace and Gold Chests to get overpowered orcs quickly. Glad they fixed it now, but if they make another game, have it like this from the start pls.
Maybe I'll buy it cheap... Second hand, so the publisher doesn't get a dime from my purchase
Funny this was announced 6 months after release once the 6 month sales window ended. They took full advantage of this situation.
It once again shows that it' s better to wait on games. They do a really poor job in making you want to buy games day one.
Market and micro-transaction shouldn't have even been in the game in the first place.
so now its worth playing?
About time, my local pawnshop has it for ten bucks. I'll probably pick it up now.
Wow I didn’t know this game micro transactions.
I wonder what damage control PR for this game will have for this action
I would say congrats are in order, but this is yet another situation where a company solved a problem it created.
Little too late if you ask me! The first game was great and there was no need to have the market place in this game from the start!
I like the idea of streamlining the epilogue. I stopped playing there because it was too much.Have to download this patch
still waiting for a complete edition...
Great news. get rid of this trash.
I just start playing this one. I think Monolith has over-staff this game. There are way too many skills, weapon upgrade, stronghold, etc. It use the whole 1st act to introduce half of the systems, upgrades, loot types. The story of the 1st act is dull & disjoint. My interest to this game almost didn't survive the 1st act.... It's only in the 2nd act does the game improve. Sometime less (game system & content) is better.
