but you dudes and dudesses do know that this game is beyond dated? you can paint it new all day long it stays an outdated piece if software. it is beyond me why anbody wants to still spend time with it.

Trueflames2117d ago

Because mods make it look better time and time again

Gaming4Life19812117d ago

Skyrim is one of the best games ever made and will live on always thru mods. Super Metroid, Zelda a link to the past, ff 7, etc are all outdated but are still played today by thousands if not millions of true gamers. Great games never die!

CorndogBurglar2117d ago

Because it's one of the best games ever made and is still extremely fun? Yeah, I can't imagine why people still like to play it either......

ONESHOTV22117d ago

it sounds like someone that cant mod his Skyrim BTW PC has even more mods to make Skyrim a match for even games that came out this year

TheCommentator2117d ago

The game is older, yes, but the part of a game which shows its' age the most is usually graphics. TBH, there are still games from 20+ years ago that have better gameplay than a lot of current releases and if they can be enhanced then why not?

I fail to understand the logic of old games being bad because to me a game is not disposable any more than older music, movies, or books. In an effort to find out why you feel this way I'll ask you this question:

When is the newest God of War going to be a bad, old game? I'm curious when the transition from 10/10 to "it sucks because it's old" occurs.

It is a shame that Bethesda wont do an official patch for Skyrim & Fallout 4 for Xbvox One X to improve graphics & framerate you know give it better textures 4K Resolution & HDR.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast18d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22918d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko18d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave18d ago (Edited 18d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
