Is it actually a good game? I thought it'd be one of the games of this generation of they could do it right, but well it just looked dire.

It's better since the atlas rising update. I've actually been playing it again from the start this last week and it's quite different since it's initial launch.

A few now. There's one goal to reach the center, another is the atlas anomoly path and the traveller path, on to of personal goals you can set up, I'm becoming a trader myself, last haul was worth over 40 million units.
The traveller path way I find the most interesting so far as it adds another species to the game ans opens up new locations. Plus the base building is quite fun for farming and such
