E3 2018: Bandai Namco’s betting big on anime

"Bandai Namco had a pretty solid lineup at E3, and as it's been the case these past few years, they're betting it big on anime, with big announcements like Jump Force and a new game based on the gigantic My Hero Academia franchise." - Eduardo Reboucas, Entertainium

Seems taht the writer forgot about New Gundam Breaker, Little Witch Academia and Seven Deadly Sins.

No, I did not. I just didn't see or play those at their booth. Sorry!

I know but I was just kinda countering the title, since a lot of their anime games (that aren't SAO and Jump's Big Four) ranged from mediocre to terrible. Same can be said with Gundam, since the best ones were all Japan exclusive while we keep getting the worst ones.

Unless the anime is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. They're not betting on that at all. I guess that's more of Capcom's territory though.

I still can't pinpoint the exact year where Bandai Namco gained the publishing rights to most video game adaptations of anime

Rangerman12082535d ago

Same. Kinda sad that they're the one making anime adaptations, cause the only ones that seems that they're willing to put more effort in are the Gundam games, SAO, and Jump's Big Four (if you replaced Bleach with Hero Academy). A lot of their anime games ranged from mediocre (LWA, Jojo Eyes of Heaven, Gintama Rumble) to terrible (Full Metal Panic WDW, Seven Deadly Sins, New Gundam Breaker). The only one that actually managed to be good was Girls und Panzer, and that's probably because it actually felt like a passion project compared to many of their anime games.
