Most Overlooked Current Gen Games - Part Seven

Phil writes, "It's been a homecoming of sorts here at SuperPhillip Central. We had a new edition of a longtime SuperPhillip Central favorite series of articles with Best Boss Battles in Gaming History's 20th outing, and now we have one of the longest running article series with "Most Overlooked" getting another entry. These upcoming Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo 3DS games flew under the radar for most system owners, but here's hoping that I can spark some interest in these otherwise enjoyable games."

I would add Sniper Elite 3, 4 and Zombie Army Trilogy to the list. Love those games.

It deserves way more sales than it has.

Seraphim1932d ago

Probably one of the best JRPGs I've played since Lost Odyssey. Not to say there hasn't been some great ones between but.... Xenoblade 2 was phenomenal. Sunk something like 240 hours into it before finally, reluctantly, moving along to another game.

Bleucrunch1932d ago

@Seraphim Lost Odyssey oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooh man you brought back so many good memories. I LOVED THAT GAME!!! Even those long as stories that I read all the way through, some excellent writing if I do say so myself.

I was hoping for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to be $41.99 for a physical copy. The game will be 2 years old come April. Since Nintendo is really greedy and can't even let the physical copy be discounted, I guess I will go to ebay for a slightly used copy for about $40-45.

343_Guilty_Spark1932d ago (Edited 1932d ago )

Gamespot has it $41 for digital. EBay you’ll pay at least $50-$55 for physical

MoshA1932d ago

people really pay this much for switch games? yikes

Sgt_Slaughter1932d ago

You exaggerate as if Switch games are somehow lesser games, and that's where you're 100% wrong.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, and Octopath Traveler are all on multiple people's lists of their favorite games (regardless of system) and they are chock full of hours or content.

King_Noctis1932d ago

I wouldn’t pay much attention to him. Look at his comment history.

Seraphim1932d ago

while some games are worth it some simply aren't. But I can say the same about many PS/XB games that release as well. I don't mind paying $60 for most games but there are some I just don't see the value in paying that for. Thing of it is, value is determined by each individual person. Someone might only feel $40 or any other price above or under is the price making X game worthwhile while others happily pay $60 or even $100-200 for some special edition. Point is value is subjective.

Nicknasty1931d ago

Quality games that's why. Just like in the 90s. Games were pricey back then. Most games these days are all the same and get old quick. Nintendo seems to always hold its value.

iofhua1932d ago

I've been wanting to get Octopath Traveler. Now might be the best time to pick it up.

ZeekQuattro1931d ago

If I didn't own it already I would jump on it before the price jumps back up.
