Fallout 76 Has Caused a Boost in Interest in West Virginia

Since the reveal of Fallout 76's setting, there has been a boost in interest in the state of West Virginia that could contribute to a growth in tourism.

That’s a really interesting positive knock on effect. Can’t wait.

as someone who has lived in WV my whole life... i'd say beautiful place to visit ... horrid place to live ... maybe its a grass is greener situation but Wv is just one of the poorest states in the union and it shows a lot of the time sadly natural beauty doesnt lead to economic beauty lol

It's definitely cool and I have to admit I've done a few Google searches for stuff mentioned in the various videos about Fallout 76. I've lived a few miles across the state line in Virginia, but have been to WV more times than I can count and have some distant family there. It's cool to see places that I have been to in real life like The Greenbrier resort and I'm pretty sure the bridge in one shot was the New River Gorge Bridge. Using local myths and legends for the creatures in the game is a pretty cool deal as well.

World looks great. Love the setting. Just a bit worried that being made so soon after F4, that it’s more of a cash grab on the games of service trend. And I am worried that it will have many of the same issues that plague the offline version. Cannot imagine it online.

I would be all for a version that allowed you to play with friends and build settlements while questing, or even a single player experience with a multiplayer mode. But the way it’s being promoted, it has thrust itself into competition with many games whose engines are better built for the experience.

Hopefully it has constant content and a proper proofreading to keep people playing, but without a true narrative, I dunno.

Many asked to be able to play Skyrim with friends and we got ESO, but it’s a bad example b/c it’s an amazing fully realized mmo. I’m not sure what F76 is at all. If it were simply F4 with friends/enemies, that would be unreal! But I don’t think it is at all.

I'm still waiting on a westcost fallout... Give me California already. Huge state many differt climates and huge citys!! Also Silicon Valley and all the military bases and the redwoods!! Do it now

Out of the 7 major Fallout games released so far, 4 of them are in the Western US and 3 of those take place in California in varying degrees. Bethesda is based in Maryland and seems to like the East Coast better. With those two details, it seems another West Coast Fallout may not be a priority, though I do know they did look at San Francisco at one point.
