Enricko: Who would have guessed that a mix between the worlds of Final Fantasy and Disney could result in one of the most popular and enjoyable titles for Sony?
The Wonderful World of Disney has brought along many great characters in the Kingdom Hearts series.
Footage from an early Kingdom Hearts 3 prototype has confirmed Square Enix's original plans to include assets from Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
The first two titles in the trilogy were already Steam Deck Verified, but now Kingdom Hearts III has gotten its coveted green checkmark.
Because its Kingdom freaking Hearts. Always solid gameplay first. Also, at this point we want to see the end of Xehanort saga and of course figure out what the master of masters put in the damn box.
“Who would have guessed that a mix between the worlds of Final Fantasy and Disney could result in one of the most popular and enjoyable titles for Sony?
For Sony? Don’t you mean Squaresoft which eventually became Square Enix? You say Sony like they own the franchise.
Besides when you consider that Disney was a company that was told a character like Mickey Mouse and a movie like Snow White wouldn’t be successful business ventures and Final Fantasy is a franchise that was named as such because it was a title that was thought to be the swan song for Squaresoft, it shouldn’t be as big a surprise that two individual properties that people initially thought would fall flat on their face but succeeded regardless would have a successful collaboration.
“Although it’s weird that there were a couple of entries that made its way to platforms such as the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS, that didn’t stop people from playing them.”
Of course people will plays games in a franchise that comes out on their platform of choice. Plus it wasn’t weird that those games made it to handheld systems. Chain of Memories was developed to make the wait for Kingdom Hearts 2 more bearable and 358/2 Days was developed to make the wait for Birth by Sleep and subsequently Kingdom Hearts 3 more bearable. They were relatively simpler games to make so the decision to create them was also simple...and clean.
