Whilst Monster Slayers doesn’t compete with genre greats such as Elder Scrolls Legends, Gwent or Hearthstone, Monster Slayers does contain the making of a great card game
This week Jovan (@hovalatos) j oins Mike (@AssaultSuit), Tiny (@Tiny415) and Aaron (@Ind1fference) to talk about video games, Star Trek Discovery, analog games, The Boys, parking woes, Alita Battle Angel and more video games.
Monster Slayers hits the Nintendo Switch as a Rogue-Like deck building RPG with a surprising amount of depth.
VGChartz's Evan Norris: "In a Venn diagram with circles representing deck-building, rogue-lite, and role-playing games, Monster Slayers would occupy the shared space among all three. If that sounds super specific, it is. Yet, there are mechanics and features at play in the title to satisfy—at least partially—fans of rogue-lite randomness, Hearthstone-esque card collecting, and class-based dungeon diving. It's overall a solid title that's held back by some tedious gameplay and a few technical difficulties."
