Bethesda's New Fallout Tease Better Not Be Fallout 5

With rumors and speculation flying around everywhere in the Fallout universe after the recent tease by Bethesda, Coin-Drop is really hoping the announcement isn't a Fallout 5.

This year would mark the 10th anniversary of Fallout 3. I'd like to see another spinoff of New Vegas but I could see a remastered Switch version.

After all the shit that FO4 got for their buggy engine filled with glitches, sub par graphics and average story (it's about time people started to wake up for the ES and FO games tbh) a new mainline Fallout game seems highly unlikely in such a short space of time.

Todd Howard was visiting insomniac games and dud a podcast with ted price and on his podcast he said we have to one game in production and one in pre production. The production one using the old animation system and one is in pre-production using the new animation system at that time It did not make a lot of sense but now it makes perfect sense to have a spin-off Fallout game running on the same Engine with minor improvements and you using the new engine for the new IP

Fallout 4 made Bethesda a billion dollars in just a few days so you got understand from A smart business point of view it does not hurt to do another spin-off like New Vegas and make money while they're still working hard on the new game on a new engine

Fallout 3 remaster isn't out of question along with this new spinoff

I really hate to say this but I think we are done seeing Elder Scrolls games. With zenimax continually updating ESO both games have to fit together, the stories have to jive and the locations have to match and I just don't see Bethesda Game Studio dealing with it anymore after they pretty much let it go to ESO.

I'm pretty sure Bethesda have been pretty clear that The Elder Scrolls 6 is not coming anytime soon. I hope that they deliver with ES6. They've said something along the lines of " the technology to realize our vision doesn't exist yet".

I don't think it's Fallout 5, although I wouldn't be against it. I think it will be Fallout 3 Anniversary.

But we could all be surprised, although I would be surprised if we were.

It's not a trend but I point to last gen when it was elder scrolls, fallout, fallout, elder scrolls. You can make the excuse new vegas wasn't a true sequel no one is saying bethesda won't do what obsidion did last gen and just refine what fallout 4 had.

Why? With the B&W TV test pattern and Vault Boy, you know it's Fallout-related (not Elder Scrolls). Given that, why would the next major game in the franchise be a bad thing? I'm not hopeful, but I'd love it.

There was actually an average of 3 years between them. 2 years between Oblivion (2006, not 2007) and Fallout 3, 3 years between Fallout 3 and Skyrim and 4 years between Skyrim and Fallout 4. Even with that smaller average, according to that pattern, we're pretty far from the precipice. I would say, if the pattern continues, it'll be 5 years between Fallout 4 and what every is next. So: 2020.
