Far Cry 3 Remaster Is Available To Download On PS4 And Xbox One

Far Cry 3 remaster can be downloaded now on the PS4 and Xbox One. The file size for the game has also been revealed.

Can anyone confirm this? I played 3 back on 360 and while it is my favorite in the series, it looked pretty bad on the old machine. Would play it again even if it was at least 1080p and a solid 30 on Pro or X

It’s a port of the PC version. Likely locked at 30 with higher resolution.

Yeah I can confirm it looks way better than the 360 port on Xbox One. I have the One S and bought FC3 because its my favorite in the series and I got the Classic edition yesterday. Looks better than the 360/One version, but not as good as Far Cry 5. It's like they took the PC port, and kind of remastered it. It looks better, but not nearly as good as todays games.

Ubi's half assed remaster. Still better than the PS3 version I played, solid framerate, better draw distance, etc but it doesnt look THAT much better. They changed some sound effects too, the AK47 sounds different and has a much higher fire rate too. I wonder what else they changed

My download size on the X is just over 16GB. It's reported on PS4 it's 8GB. Not sure why I'm having to download 16GB. Could be more than a simple port on the X maybe I don't know, won't play it till later.

Judging from what YouTubers say in some of their vids, a lot of games have have bigger sized patches on the X1 whilst still having the same content as the PS4. No idea why that is though.

Unfortunately it’s always been the case on Xbox this generation. All file sizes are bigger usually by about 5gb so that’s not far off. I assume it’’s due to the compression technique or Extra DRM data. There was talk that this was left over from the always online vision of the original xbone. We’re it was extra data that was continuously cross referenced during playing.

Its a very bright and colourful game, the grass in bright daylight hurts my eyes almost. Draw distance is excellent now.

A couple things. Since info on this been unreliable with all the remaster speculation.

It is an upgraded version. It’s obvious as F as soon as the actual in game renders occur. It’s not the best the game can look, but damn, not shabby at all considering the age and hardware it was designed for.

The DLC is included, just not blood dragon.
