Square Enix hasn't shown much lately of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, but a small new image appears to have been dropped via a rather unusual mean.
Looks like the Air Buster.
why do I have a feeling FF7 Remake will not come on ps4?
Likely to be Playstation Pro and beyond.
Definitely a PS5 release.
Looks like the boss after the motorcycle sequence.
Hard to tell based on the 12 pixels in that image.
It's definitely the Air Buster, not the Motor Ball.
Nah, it's clearly Air Buster, the boss you fight in the reactor with party members on both sides. Which is why we see Tifa and Cloud facing it, while Barrett is presumably on the other side.
Coming in 2022
I’m getting nervous about this game.
When games take this long with so little to show, not only do I lose interest I lose faith. I hope E3 is a big year for the remake.
Agreed. Wasn't there a report a month or so ago that they scrapped everything and basically started over?
I genuinely don't get what's so crazy about this release schedule that's getting people's panties in a bunch. It's a recently started remake of one of the biggest scale games in history. I don't see why a modern gen remake to FF7 WOULDN'T take at least 5 years if done properly.
Wasn't it announced like 2 or 3 years ago? I know they took the development back from Cyberconnect or whover they were sub-contracting, to restart in-house, but it was anounce a long time ago. It will likely be closer to 10 years than 5 in the end
I am still so very excited for this release. I'm hoping by the time PS5 launches, then this game will be ready.
It would definitely make a very compelling launch title for the PS5. I would even argue that it will have the same effect as Breath of the Wild for the Switch.
It would be plenty insane. Think of the graphics and action they can pull off. What's amazing to me most aestheticaly was the art direction they dubbed "deformed realism". It looked great back on PS1 but I wasn't expecting them to bring it back for the remake. I was expecting the sterile realism of Advent Children. But low and behold, Nomura brought it back, and it looks amazing on PS4. I can't imagine how good it would look on PS5. Just one of those timeless art styles. So yeah, totally stoked if this is PS5 material.
They need to put up or shut up at this point.. We've seen this behavior from them before and waited many years for the title to be completed.. An entire generation even
Oh come the hell on. FFXV only didn't release on PS3 simply because the system couldn't handle it. The original trailers had rooms and extremely small rooms at that, in addition to underwhelming graphics in battle. There's no way something of even the slightest semblance of XV wouldn't have choked on PS3. And Nomura's games have been coming out non-stop. Since announcing versusXIII he's got over 30 titles with some credit towards him. Ever consider that they simply decided it wasn't coming out on PS3 and just decided to work on other games instead? Once PS4 was released the game came out in less than 3 years using absolutely nothing from the original code. Even if this moves to PS5 they're on Unreal and x86 so pretty much all of their work is transferrable from PS4 to PS5 and easily improved on. And 5 years for a game of this calibur is pretty short.
Put up or shut up? They've barely talked about the game at all. 90% of the news about it is not stuff they themselves have released, like this pic.
True.. I guess they have shut up about it which is better than talking nonsense..
They’re definitely teasing us for E3. Almost certain the FF7 remake will show up now.
@morgan You do realise that you have just proven everyone's point? If PC is just another platform, then why does that link calculate its market share sepearte from consoles? Well done on destroying your own argument.
Considering it took FFXV 10 years to release from its initial announcement, I won't be surprised if FFVII shows up in 2025!
Cloud looks like a woman.
thats a small glimpse indeed.
Maybe it's me but we've been waiting so long with very little news that I've got past being excited for this and I'm now just bored and have moved on. Same goes for Metroid Prime 4. For over a year the only thing that has been shown is a title. No footage, no trailer, nothing.
I'm the same. I like Bethesda's style of only announcing games that will release soon. I tend to forget about games if they're too far away or get over it after a year of waiting.
2025, Playstation 5 Pro timed exclusive.
