Appears to be only for Residents. Evil.

starsi3602583d ago

In the US, and want Resi 7? Goes like this;

Buy ... Oh, hazard.

BlacKJesu52583d ago

You earned this downvote. Get off his wave

starsi3602583d ago (Edited 2583d ago )

Jesus, lighten up Jesus!

I’m making a lighthearted comment on his thread, not spraying graffiti on his house.

porkChop2583d ago

It's a Japan-only game with servers only in Japan. Obviously the experience is going to be crap for people in the US.

Neonridr2583d ago

yep, not rocket science here.

Spenok2582d ago

This was my thought process. Uh... of course your connection is going to be garbage.

Lon3wolf2583d ago

Indeed, what a pointless not really thought out article

DanteVFenris6662583d ago

Plus us internet may as well be third world when compared to japan

We get 5mbps in most places and I think most of Japan is rocking 1 gbps

2pacalypsenow2583d ago (Edited 2583d ago )

I get 500mbps DL and 125upload with 9ms.

Speak for yourself with that 5mb

DanteVFenris6662583d ago

@pacalypsenow

I wasn’t speaking for myself. I was talking about the average location.

Sure I myself have 150 but I am literally the only person I know with those speeds.

USA places like 20 something in the world for internet speeds and Japan is like number 5. There’s a pretty big leap between the two

PhantomS422583d ago

Cloud-based gaming having issues...what a shocker /s

gangsta_red2583d ago

Japanese only feature being played by folks in the US.

MasterChief36242583d ago

It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that it's a Japan-only release at the moment that requires an internet connection, and therefore probably connects to a server in Japan? Surely that has nothing to do with it...

MADGameR2583d ago

RENTident Evil 7 LOL! Atleast for Switch owners

Reggie Fils-Aime On Hopes For An N64 Classic, Switch Online, And Sakurai's Smash Roster Tweets

The president of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, was in New York this week to sell his company’s big holiday line-up. But there was plenty more to talk about, too.

We all know a n64 classic is coming at some point

2pacalypsenow2407d ago (Edited 2407d ago )

Why would the head of Nintendo hope for an N64 Classic.

You literally have the power to release one.

Theknightofnights2407d ago

You should read the article, not just the title.

2pacalypsenow2407d ago

And give them a click? Nah

Theknightofnights2407d ago (Edited 2407d ago )

@2pacalypsenow

Well, don't expect to get the full story if you don't read the article. It's not about Reggie hoping to release the N64 Classic. It's about him commenting on others hope for it.

2pacalypsenow2407d ago (Edited 2407d ago )

@TheKnightofknights

See I didn’t even have to click on it, you did the work for me.

Thanks 🙏🏻

Theknightofnights2407d ago

@2pacalyps

Lol you still don't know what he said. You just know the context now.

Idk if the title got edited, but it says "reggie ON hopes for an n64 classic" not his own hopes for one

Hands-On with Resident Evil 7 on Switch: It's as Good as Your Internet Connection - IGN

The streaming-only version of Capcom’s survival horror hit can only be played via the cloud – but how well does it really work?

PhoenixUp2568d ago

I’ve played cloud games on PS Now and it’s a serviceable method of playing games.

xboxcult2568d ago

in 720p :D. I am a fan of the cloud, but the tech still has a few years before it's mastered.

AspiringProGenji2568d ago (Edited 2568d ago )

Next gen cloud gaming may reach its potential along with fiber Internet. The difference between cloud and native will be just like HDMI and Digital audio, hardly noticebale

2pacalypsenow2568d ago

You make it seem like upgrading a countries internet infrastructure is an easy task lol. It won’t be done by the next 10 years lol

PhantomS422568d ago

720 and extreme input lag.

SierraGuy2567d ago (Edited 2567d ago )

Don't forget choppy frame rates. This will not be the norm until everyone has fiber running on LIFI vs WIFI. LIFI will surpass a wired bandwidth connection by alot...then streaming games in HD will be feasible, with low latency.

Until then keep dreaming. This won't work for competitive multiplayer yet.

Uken122567d ago

Internet in the US blows. I have "High Speed" internet in NYC and it's not great. I don't use wireless at all because wireless is meh.

Basically we pay premium prices for internet gaming that is still as good as Halo 2 was in 2004. For 2004 it was awesome, for 2018 not so much.

PhoenixUp2568d ago

Yeah we don’t have the latency to have 1080p streaming now, but I didn’t say it was my preferred method of playing games, I just said it was an adequate way of doing so.

PhantomS422568d ago

Yeah, that's not a very good statement when talking about playing games.

The_Sage2568d ago

Seems completely playable. Switch owners are in for a treat.

Segata2567d ago

Only playable if you live in Japan and even then Input lag is a real issue for RE7. The game is broken if you try to connect from outside Japan. I'm on Fiber and the US connection get's lost constantly closing the game and losing all progress.

The_Sage2567d ago

Oh... Well that sucks. I played it on PS4 and really enjoyed it. I thought Switch players would dig it too.

SierraGuy2567d ago (Edited 2567d ago )

Not sure if using an Asian or Japanese server via VPN would help. That way you would appear local. Your connection should be more than enough.

Prince_TFK2568d ago

I’d rather have a standalone release for the Switch, but hey, its Capcom. Maybe they are just testing the water with this in Japan.

Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version Makes No Promises About Preserving Save Data

After a surprising reveal just a few days ago, Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version launched on the Japanese eShop this week. It comes with a significant caveat about save data, however. In that the saves are not stored on the system itself, but rather on Capcom's own internal servers.

The issue here is that Capcom is making no promises with regard to this data. The company says that after the 180-day ticket expires, there are no guarantees that saves will be preserved. While that somewhat makes sense, oddly, Capcom also warns that the same even goes during the play period that you’re paying for.

Capcom finds new ways to screw up even when they’re doing alright like it’s a force of habit

MuddyWaters2580d ago

Nintendo is kind of doing the same thing now, putting saves on the cloud but with a major caveat. It's being put behind a paywall.

hulk_bash19872580d ago (Edited 2580d ago )

I'm pretty sure you need a PS Plus and Xbox Live subscription to use cloud saving on the other consoles as well.

Atomicjuicer2580d ago

This is a reply to hipk_bash1987 - wrong. Cloud save is free on Xbox and on ps4 you can backup to usb

ocelot072580d ago

@hulk_bash1978 true but at least on PS4 (not sure about Xbox) you can back your saves to a USB stick.

-Foxtrot2580d ago

@hulk_bash1987

You wouldn't really need cloud saves anyway considering in 2013 when these consoles release they came with 500GB of memory. If the Switch came with just half of that at 250GB then we wouldn't need to rely on the cloud and the like.

hulk_bash19872580d ago

My bad on the xbox live assumption, I've never used the cloud storage on my Xbox One. But I know for a fact that PS Plus is needed for cloud storage on the PS4. My point being, Nintendo isn't somehow worse for doing the same.

FallenAngel19842580d ago

PSN puts cloud saves behind a paywall as well

Snookies122580d ago

Are you serious? Not being able to keep saved progress is absolutely ridiculous. Please don't buy this game. We don't want this mentality to spread.

Derceto2580d ago

Take a look around. Don't hold your breath on your request.

PhantomS422580d ago

Haven't seen any good reception for this concept. It's not going far.

TheColbertinator2580d ago

Welcome to your online only future.

InKnight7s2580d ago

but you must start again..... and again.

Neonridr2580d ago

lol.. could you imagine. The game is in the cloud, but we aren't sure about the save games.. :P

TallonIV2580d ago

No wonder they're known as Crapcom.
