Slayers unite! Today, Phoenix Labs, an independent game development studio made up of industry veterans from Riot Games, BioWare, Capcom, and more launched Dauntless into Open Beta on PC worldwide.
Nearly six years after its release, Phoenix Labs says that the monster-slaying title Dauntless will shut down and become unavailable later this year.

It's funny how Ninty, which would be the last Publisher I'd expect to do anything about an MP game shutting down, made Animal Crossing Pocket it's own paid game instead of letting it outright die. My point: just grab your MP game, sell a complete edition for cheap, let people host their own servers and viola. You'd continue to profit without needing to worry about server maintenance, and people who genuinely enjoyed these games can continue playing it whenever they feel like it.
