Rage 2, to me is pretty telling. It's not the kind of game that you would just assume a sequel is coming. It's not Madden or Call of Duty.

But I guess we'll find out.

Pete Hines, senior vice president of communications for Bethesda, Rage’s publisher, tweeted, “This is why we can’t have nice things.” and posted the Walmart Rage 2 image. Lol, he's just throwing his hands up and saying "Yep. You caught us. Bast**ds."

Rage 1 wasn't the greatest, but I still had fun. I could certainly see a lot of potential for it if they were to ever make a sequel, so I'm glad to hear they are! Should be awesome on more powerful hardware.

*On a side note, the funniest one on the Walmart list though is Forza Horizon 5. Wha?? We haven't even gotten Forza Horizon 4 yet. I guess it's just assumed far into the future with all of Microsoft's exclusives! XD

sony had a deal with R* for GTA4 being exclusive but R* asked sony and sony agreed because even they understood that it's bad for R*'s business. This is why other publishers like sony so much and many times sony doesn't have to pay a lot like MS just to get stuff exclusive. At the time FF`13 came out sony owned a hefty amount of shares within square enix and could have used that to make sure it was exclusive but they have enough confidence in their studios to deliver the exclusives

i've been almost certain FFVII will end up on xbox since they announced it, these days if there's a 3rd party game on ps4 where sony hasn't paid for any exclusivity, there's a pretty good chance it will end up on xbox at some point.

Im hoping splinter cell isnt open world, but i dont mind open levels with different way to complete levels. The thing about open world games is that even the best ones are limited to one location.

I agree, I don't want what happened with Metal Gear to happen to Splinter Cell. The open world structure is not needed for that type of game, unless it's condensed into regions that are densely packed. Problem with open world games of today is that while they're expansive, they don't have enough content that fills up the entire world. Dark Souls is an example of being open, but not too big, though the areas have content packed in them. Save for one area that the team didn't have time or the budget to fill in.

for the most part i would imagine it was mostly "speculative". all of them had placeholder dates and prices. Though "Rage 2" may be legit with a possible reveal in a matter of days, Gearbox has already said the Borderlands listing was completely nonsense/ not happening this year... but they could be lying who knows

You don't know how supply chains work. The video game publishers have to tell these companies what they have coming up so that production areas can be allotted for printing their games. If they're not given to them at a specific time then those production areas taken over by another product, thus the game or product is pushed back, this also has to align with the video game company itself, based on the projected dates and earnings the companies expect to make off their video games.

Yet I bet nobody will fine them for breaking the embargo oddly enough. I worked for two game publishers and in retail and there are very strict and severe penalties for breaking a street date or embargo. We used to get Disney films in a few days before release and we could not even say we had them in the store or show the boxes, packaging, etc, until the specified date. Anyone doing so would be fined or at the least would find future shipments delayed so you would not get stock until several days after the other retailers did. So this was either a planned leak, or it was Walmart saying as big as we are you do not dare fine us or penalize us; or we will not carry your products.

Lies. Why the heck would Walmart people just make up a bunch of games and put them in the database? They obviously got information from game companies in advance so that they can put up pre-orders as soon as they need to, i.e. right after these games get announced at E3, when people are most hyped and interested, and are more prone to impulse pre-ordering based on misleading trailers.

I believe the games maybe right but Dragon Quest 2 in physical form on Xbox and PS4? That part is why I believe they're more guesses and a few are actually confirmed
