The magnificent 7? I guess it will be as predictable as the last game with nothing but western movie clichés, only this time with a larger cast.

smolinsk2567d ago

So you want a western game that do not resembles the wild west? Great ;-)

As with gta Rockstar makes game worlds that looks like the real thing but with a Rockstar stroke of magic on it and that's what we like.

kneon2567d ago

It's not like western movies actually resemble the "wild" west, that's just the American mythology about the west, not at all like it really was.

But my problems with Red Dead, besides the numerous (and sometimes humorous) technical glitches was that the main and side stories were all so unoriginal and the characters were more like caricatures. I grew up when westerns were on TV all the time, so playing Red Dead I felt like I'd seen this movie before, because I had.

Derekvinyard132567d ago

No way in hell did you predict that ending

kneon2567d ago

I sure did. And it was handled poorly.

MWH2567d ago

I can understand your point of view, nonetheless i enjoyed playing the hell out of this game.

raWfodog2567d ago

You and so many others, like me, enjoyed the hell out of this game. And we look forward to some more of this 'clichéd' western story.

pietro12122567d ago

There's always that one guy.
All western movies are riddled with cliches, but really enjoyable. Same goes for Red Dead Redemption.

joab7772567d ago

Maybe cliche, but for a reason. And quality is what I’m looking for in Rockstar, not so much originality.

kneon2567d ago (Edited 2567d ago )

I'd be ok with the lack of originality if the characters had been better, but they are pretty shallow.

And the quality wasn't that great, there were so many technical problems, major pop-in, levitating barrels and sacks, some really freaky stuff like the infamous donkey lady, riding my horse about 50 feet behind the horse with my arms stretched to make up the distance, enemies stuck in rocks or fallen through the ground so that you couldn't complete the mission.

Most other devs would have been ripped to shreds for such bugs but Rockstar gets a pass for some reason.

A basically a story for years ago trying to get the jump in others and creating a rumour when absolutely nothing about the story was known.

And even close to release it’s still not a valid rumour

bangoskank2567d ago

Awesome. One of my favorite movies.

Internetratnik2567d ago

How come? There's 8 folks in the picture

raWfodog2567d ago (Edited 2567d ago )

Look again, the second person from the left is just a really big guy. Kikuchiyo, I believe.

Internetratnik2567d ago

Oh hahah, thnx for responding nicely, I didnt notice that :-D
Though from the original movie, I dont think any of them was so much bigger

smolinsk2567d ago (Edited 2567d ago )

So what is it you want? Being irritated at Rockstar for making a fun great game with focus on fun and the wild west we all like to think is was, just more fun that way. Of course the real life wild west is not exactly that way, everybody knows that. We want a Rockstar game, if I want a true to life western RPG game it's never gonna be a Rockstar game, don't understand why you wanna take that fight, it's not even close to being Rockstars thing to make close to life games, it's all fun and cliche, all ways have been.
Stupid fight to take.

If somebody else is going to make a real life western RPG game I'm all in for sure, would be amazing, but this is Rockstar.

Another year of this...Why couldn't they just release the game on time?

chicken_in_the_corn2d ago

Because the gaming community didn't want it to release this year. It was only delayed because of the massive amounts of pressure they were under to do so. It's been happening for years.

thorstein1d 16h ago

On time to what?

It will be released on time: when it is done.

I would have included the Uncharted games as well. Good list though.

Yui_Suzumiya17d ago

Island would be #1 but that would be anything from Frontwing.

QueenOfFrowns17d ago

Haha it is not lost on me that two of the games in the top four were already novels before they were games
