Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has been up on the Wii U eShop since it launched in 2014. However, with the new Switch version just on the horizon, it has now gone missing.
Nintendo is very money hungry. That is one of the reasons I don't support Nintendo. re releasing older games for full price and almost never have big sale on their games.
Nintendo would like to forget about wiiu and would much rather that people think they went from wii to switch
Nintendo will neve make another conventional system and bs instead will always chase the casual market/portable(nothing wrong with that they always try to innovate in their own way but switch not having bluray disks in my opinion is a missed opportunity because even buying physical means you have to download part of the game
it keeps the cost down for customers #1 and installing games on HD is different from having to download half the game even when buying physical version. I am not bashing nintendo or anything i even said they innovate in their own way so stop being hurt about everything someone says
you don't think nintendo looks at wiiu as a failure? what did i say that is hating on nintendo. The reason they didn't use bluray is so they don't have to pay a license fee
it's more expensive to own a switch than it is to own a ps4 or xbox one. I just don't mean the system everything nintendo related is more expensive compared to ps4 and xbox one
but they do know how to get the most out of the consumers so i guess credit to them
Who said anything about hating nintendo? I just think your argument is flawed.
The discs WiiU used were pretty much the same tech as bluray. And switch not using discs makes sense. Not only due to size and components but you'd don't want to the device to move when the disc reader is busy.
It's only as expensive as much as you value the product. If you're not interested in the switch, then of course it's expensive. Same way that the PS4/Xbox isn't cheaper if you don't have any interest in it.
I'm not sure what you wanted them to do. If they used discs like vita you'd have a problem of discs needing to be small which also means less write space. Same issue. And Nintendo could potentially start giving devs a 64gb cartridge. Sure components will be a bit more expensive, but not so much in bulk. And definitely not over time.
I know Nintendo wants to forget about the Wii-U but there are still people who are snagging up the console. I know the Switch port is coming out this week but Nintendo is hurting the sales of the Wii-U port by removing the game digitally from the Wii-U. I wonder if Nintendo will do the same with Hyrule Warriors which is suppose to come out in May for the Switch also.
This game is the weakest DKC game there is and Nintendo should be ashamed of this kind of thing. Its a $20 game they're selling for $60! Lol. Steer clear, this is def not worth $60. And I love DK games, but this one just felt forced and bland. Even at $20 its a disappointment.
bought it day 1 for the wii u via the eshop. Makes no sense why they would remove it though, unless they're getting zero sales over the last few months from it.
Wow that’s scandalous Nintendo
It's still available in the Australian eShop for $49.95 AUD.
Waiting to see if it disappears
I bought the physical disc for $20. I'm good. Everyone else who wants this should grab em while you can.

They'll do anything to make you pay $60 for a $30 game.
