so strange, the persona dance series got some of the most vivid fans i have seen, all of the videos got hyper fans commenting, yet here it is...*cricket*

Let me know when they say they're not bringing the physical Vita versions to north America so I have a reason to save money. I really doubt they will by the time they release, and despite loving them. For me rhythm games are on the go games for me as I never play p4d at home, only on the go. Same with alot of rhythm titles. Apart from rock band.

Unfortunately that wasn't caused by a lack of sales. So they will mostly likely not expand their multiplatform catalog.

LegoIsAwesome1761d ago

"Bring the P5R to the Switch" comments will show up in the following hours for sure

Shiken1761d ago

It wouldn't be a bad idea and hurt no one, so who cares?

LegoIsAwesome1761d ago

Nothing. It's just in every articles that includes Atlus, there's always some people begging for it to be release on the Switch. Sorry it's just funny. They begged for a Persona game, now they have it. Persona 5 "Scramble"

Kribwalker1761d ago

P5R to the switch would turn that loss into a huge profit for sure

rainslacker1761d ago

That amounts to about 8 million dollars.

The loss is more because of all they have in production, so bringing a game to switch may cost them around a million, at which they'd probably return 4-5 million, which means less of a loss.

But, because of the way corporate finances are determined, it means they may have better profits in the future, as money would have been written off this year, instead of the year of release.

Looks like someone didn't actually read the article. The posted loss is just them posting amortization from their business transfer to Sega. Their sales helped Sega this year.

With Persona 5 Royal launching this year then coming next year in N.A. their sales will be better than this year so no worries they'll be more than fine.

Looks like someone didn't actually read my comment: "Unfortunately that wasn't caused by a lack of sales".

NXFather1761d ago

So you saying they may not be able to fix the situation. Alright.

SamPao1761d ago

maybe read the article, they are in no way in a bad situation.

NXFather1761d ago

@SamPao

Yeah. I gathered that from the Sony Force but, I was simply responding to Vits and Vits only. Thanks for the concern. I like Atlus games if that helps.

As you long you make great games, ppl will buy in droves

TheOptimist1761d ago

Are you sure? Call of Duty sells the most each year.

DarXyde1761d ago

That doesn't exactly disprove that great games sell well either - they didn't say ONLY great games sell well.

That's neither here nor there.

The loss is essentially from loan repayments following the Sega acquisition.

GameBoyColor1761d ago

their great games are kinda spaced out, they really waste time and probably money making filler games in between.

AK911761d ago

I hope this means more traditional games from Atlus then.

lociefer1761d ago

I would have been worried if their sales weren't strong. Honestly Persona 5 is one of the best games ever made and it would be a blow to gaming if they stopped making similar games

A Look at All of the Rhythm Games Available on Vita

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Despite its somewhat anaemic lineup of backwards-compatible titles (unusual in light of the genre’s strong pedigree on Sony consoles), Vita’s selection of rhythm games is highly impressive in the modern market with genre favourites like DJMax, Hatsune Miku and Taiko no Tatsujin all present and plenty of quirky oddities like Deemo, Love Live & Persona thrown in for good measure. You’re definitely going to need to try your hand at importing to get the most of the genre here, but that shouldn’t be an issue thanks to region-free hardware and easy-to-grasp gameplay."
