GI: "Two of the minds behind the game walk us through this important feature with exclusive gameplay examples."
Superhero games are hard, often constructed for a marketing deadline, like a film based on the same IP. Studios have been making these since 1979 and you can only count the great ones on one hand...
Twinfinite Writes: September 2018 officially kicks of the fall rush for PS4, with hugely anticipated titles like Dragon Quest XI, Spider-Man, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, along with quite a few smaller releases.
JPS writes: Spider-Man PS4 is out next month, but we got a chance to play a small snippet of gameplay. From what we can see so far, the game could be the best ever Spider-Man video game of all time.
I love the focus on never losing the rhythm of traversal. The high quality motion blur and lighting along with the wide palette of colours used at any spot in New York makes the game look so damn captivating and easy on the eyes. You can immediately tell a hell of a lot more time and effort has been put into making NY and its environments interesting instead of just copy pasting blocks of grey blobs around the place. I can definitely see myself just cruising around for hours exploring. This is going to be THE Spider-Man game that I've wanted and waited for so long to get. They picked the right developer.
Web swinging looks so damn good.
PSVR Support Sony. Make it happen Insomiac. They could totally pull it off.
I love when they start talking about web swinging in game just to relax. Back after Spider-Man 2 came out I would sometimes break out the game just to go web swinging and it was relaxing. This is obviously going to beat what we had back then and I cannot wait to again just enjoy using the city as a playground.
On another note it is going to be great seeing how people string together moves and how they traverse the city.
Insomniac’s respect & love for Spider-Man is clearly evident with the footage that has been released. The way Spidey traverses & swings in the world looks natural & believable. Mixed with the speed & momentum, it'll just be so much FUN. As it should be.
Not that I had any doubts (especially after that fantastic E3 demo from last year) but the passion & care with which the studio is tackling this game is just inspiring, and I hope it’ll inspire other game studios who, in the future, may have the honor and privilege of taking on another superhero game, that it’s not about stamping your company logo on the cover of the game case. It’s more than that. Having the opportunity to take a superhero, known by millions all over the world, and telling a unique story about that said character, and having your entire team come together to make a gaming experience that not only the fans can be proud of, but that you, as a team & indivuals can be proud of.
I'm hoping we'll get to see a little snippet of gameplay with Peter, out've the suit, just doing something normal & cool.
