Is Star Wars Battlefront 2's big update enough to save it?

Well I heard about a month back The next big content batch is going to be Clone Wars stuff.

That along with the progression update will definitely get me back into playing. I'm currently just playing Battlefield 1 and 4 I'm just waiting for the update for Star Wars Battlefront 2 to jump back in

lol they haven't let me down yet. I would argue their the only multiplayer Team that still exist today that I've been able to purchase a multiplayer game with the full Trust of it being of great quality.

Lots of multiplayer games from my youth have not been able to hold up because of numerous changes or teams splitting apart what have you I remember loving the multiplayer in the first two Halo games and then the team just begin to change their design overtime, I also remember loving the multiplayer in Call of Duty 2 in 4 and just over time it also changed as well, Battlefield might be the only multiplayer series that I know of that is always maintained a very very strong balance of quality.

Well, battlefield 4 was a bit of a mess for a while, and battlefront after was so bare bones. Still, you're right, not too many companies hit the mark the way DICE does. I'll jump back and forth between their games and rocket league for online play.

If the game would have launched as it stands it would have been a massive success. Who would have thought that leveling and progression occurring from actually PLAYING versus gambling with lootboxes would have made such a difference (thanks to the EA's dumbass CEO). The other aspect that has changed is that now when you are able to spend battle points you are more inclined to do so as it actually levels up the character....fundamentally changes gameplay for the better. In the past players would in many cases just save points.

We now need to see more content, however, with next to no financial incentives I do not see this happening from EA and DICE. They will continue to throw recycled content from BF 1 into the game (levels, characters etc) in the hopes that this appeases the players.

We need both this new progression updates AND a steady stream of updates and content to keep this game going.

The game is fun and with all the changes I'd say give Dice another chance here. You all screamed for changes. They made them.

It's still a fun game and I'm sure you can find it cheap now also.

Agreed. It's a shame all this controversy took away from a very amazing game that was well-crafted DICE did a very very good job with the design and everything involved with the single player you could tell they really really love Star Wars.
The smoke effects, the explosion effects even the music everything they did just felt like you were in a Star Wars movie.

I definitely hope that Star Wars Battlefront 3 just launches the way they're going to have Star Wars Battlefront 2 so that way they don't have to deal with any controversy and just worry about showing off a great game.

I don't have the game anymore, but I liked what I played. Now that the game's loot boxes will be cosmetic, more people may be more willing to give it a chance.

They need to bring back Galactic Conquest as either a cooperative mode or similar to BF1’s Operations mode. Even with the fixes to progression, the game still comes off as a cheap half step.

Look I'm going to be honest. I got everything I wanted with the game and maxed out everything I was interested in. I moved on to other games now. Many gamers will like the change in the update and many may not. I actually found the old one easier to progress ironically even though I've kept saying the progression was not right. I just think gaming sites keep surfing on buzz news like this one or on negativity. Its easier to find the right and unbiased information if you look it up rather than lapping up the journalists 'essays'

Enough to save it? Why do these dumb articles keep popping up asking questions that they already know the answer to? There's no update that's going to come out for this game that's going to make it miraculously move 4 million more units...

The community asked for change they ask for the features to be removed and reverse then that's exactly what happened, the saddest part about this is I don't really see any articles really addressing that in fact I simply see articles trying to downplay what fans asked for.

I like it and I still play it from time to time. Patch fixed what was broken and servers are still always full. Game is a bargain currently IMO.

Save it? The community is thriving just fine. DICE isn't updating the game to "lure" players to the game lol they're adjusting it to make the game more suitable to what the community wants. They don't give two shits about anymore sales, they're probably already working on the next game.
