The Division Xbox One X Update Coming April 12th; 4K Rendering, Improved Reflections, AF & More

Ubisoft Massive hosted another State of the Game The Division livestream yesterday on Twitch where they announced that patch 1.8.1 (Strawberry) will go live on April 12th. The update contains two new Legendary Missions, two new Global Events, the modified drop rate for Classified and Division Tech and, as mentioned in the headline, the highly awaited Xbox One X update

About time...Too bad no HDR.

The_Jackel2645d ago

i think HDR is the better upgrade then the resolution itself.

Ricegum2645d ago

Nah. Framerate } Resolution } HDR for me.

boing12645d ago

I concur. I find HDR to be the main game changer this gen.

Italiano12345672645d ago

Yes hdr especially since the resolution is only going to be 16 60p

Muigi2645d ago

I completely agree the only people who disagree are the ones who don’t have a 4k hdr tv lol. Get your money right people!

Ricegum2644d ago

Maybe my HDR TV needs an upgrade then 😊 had the same LG one for a little while now.

Nice. Is this game on Gamepass?

ocelot072645d ago

Agreed HDR is amazing. HDR and better FPS is all I ask for.

Flewid6382645d ago

Never cared for HDR. It's bright AF.

Italiano12345672645d ago

I don't know what you're talkin about HDR usually makes makes the screen darker but makes the colors much more Vivid and just much more beautiful without HDR they can sometimes be washed out HDR is the way to go more so than 4K

AKS2645d ago (Edited 2645d ago )

You haven't seen a good implementation of HDR or your settings are off if it just looks too bright. The darker colors should also look much better and more defined. GT Sport has the best HDR and a slider to adjust exposure and saturation.

Hardiman2644d ago

Not if you have a 10 or 12 bit panel and for me I like it more than 4k! Without it darker areas are just black but in HDR you can actually see what's there and make out the shades of color.

Hardiman2644d ago

HDR is where it's at for me as well. I'd be happy with solid frame rates and HDR on games!

maybelovehate2644d ago

Not like this game has any colors anyhow haha

Great news for X owners. Agreed about the HDR as its always a welcome feature. Though, this game already looks incredible with the Xs auto resolution boost(via its scaler chip) and 16xAF. I fired it up the other day and was amazed how good it looked without a patch. It should look jaw dropping with. Cant wait! X has been getting a constant stream of great updates this past week. Resident Evil 7, DOOM, Far Cry 5, Euro Fishing and Tesla Vs. Lovecraft all in 4K and with other improvements. The Division is another Ive been waiting for and I’m excited to hear the news that it has a release date. This news, along with the Red Faction: Guerilla remake and No Mans Sky release on Xbox platforms, has me excited for the first half of this year. With lots more to come at e3.

Alexious2645d ago

On PC it looks fantastic with the extra NVIDIA GameWorks effects. I can imagine that the sequel would be even better though!

MadLad2645d ago

Grabbed this thing on the cheap, with the DLC, during a sale a few months back.
Has been my weekly player since.

ChristMustDie2645d ago

I'm glad the developers haven't given up on improving the game for returning players despite announcing a sequel not too long ago.

_-EDMIX-_2645d ago

Agreed I was just about to say I wonder what this means for support for the sequel in regards to 4K.

Good on them, a lot of people I believe fail to recognize Ubisoft strong support long-term of a lot of their games.

mark_parch2644d ago

i was hoping sot was going to see me through to state of decay but seeing as im bored already i might jump back into the division i haven't played it for about 12 months

BigWan782645d ago

good to see devs investing in their already released titles, for mid-gen consoles...
hopefully these updates to the mid-gen consoles don't takeaway from titles currently in development...

BLKxSEPTEMBER2645d ago

This is great and all but WHERE IS MY TEKKEN 7 PATCH!?!? the game still runs in 720p for Christ sakes!

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

shinoff2183810d ago

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot809d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno809d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic809d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman809d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon809d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
