Indies on Switch have been a great success by any metric, what with some studios quite literally being saved by the platform. Now, just after yesterday’s Nindie Spring Showcase, Nintendo has released a list of the ten best-selling games on the platforms.
Games Asylum: "Konami’s celebrated Contra series provides the bulk of inspiration for Iron Meat. It’s a relentless run ‘n gunner starring a battle-hardened hero – one who’s able to tuck themselves neatly into a ball while jumping – and features weapon drops carried into battle by flying drones. The main difference here is the buckets of gore, with a theme true to the game’s title that sees man and machine combining. You’re up against tanks, helicopters, and even subway carts brought to life by manmade organic tissue barely clinging to their metallic hosts, making for quite a grotesque experience. This wouldn’t have passed Nintendo’s censors in the 16-bit era, let alone the 8-bit."
"The Prague-based (Czech Republic) indie games publisher CINEMAX GAMES and indie games developer KO.DLL (Karel Matejka), today announced with great happinesss and thrill that their beautiful pixel-art platformer "BZZZT" is now available for the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo Eshop." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
"Studio Cima, via Nintendo of America, is excited to show off an all new trailer announcing the release window for its upcoming story-driven action platformer, "The Perfect Pencil".
Dive into the innermost recesses of the human mind and navigate surreal worlds punctuated by bizarre personalities, intense boss battles and enigmatic secrets when- The Perfect Pencil launches Spring 2025 on Steam and Nintendo Switch." - Studio Cima.
