Nintendo Reveals 10 Best-Selling Switch Indie Games

Indies on Switch have been a great success by any metric, what with some studios quite literally being saved by the platform. Now, just after yesterday’s Nindie Spring Showcase, Nintendo has released a list of the ten best-selling games on the platforms.

interesting Minecraft wasn't on that list..

DarkVoyager2376d ago (Edited 2376d ago )

Minecraft is wearing thin. They hardly do anything with the game anymore.

Cross-play still isn’t out for Switch and the Super Duper Graphics pack is nowhere to be seen.

Epic needs to get Fortnite on Switch asap. That will hit top 10 easily.

darkmoondruid2375d ago

That's fair. Nothing lasts forever, and Fortnite/PUBG are definitely where it's at right now. Still Minecraft is second best selling game ever so I would have expected it to make the list out of sheer popularity

Theknightofnights2375d ago

Is Minecraft considered an indie still?

Neonridr2375d ago

fair enough, that's a good question.

darkmoondruid2375d ago

Hard to answer. I think yes, because the original concept was developed as indie.

Stardew and Shovel Knight I understand, was surprised to see Celeste there! Awesome.

I don't have any. Which one would you recommend the most?

GrubsterBeater2376d ago

Stardew Valley, Celeste, Enter The Gungeon, and Shovel Knight.

Prince_TFK2376d ago

I would recommend all of those to be honest, as they all are awesome games. But if your budget is limited, I would say go with Stardew Valley, Steamworld Dig 2, and Golf Story, as those are some of the most fun games that I had played on the Switch.

“I don't have any. Which one would you recommend the most?“

Beware, Stardew Valley is very addicting.

slappy5082376d ago

Thanks. I can only choose one for now :/ looks like it will be stardew valley since everyone has mentioned it

Iron Meat review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "Konami’s celebrated Contra series provides the bulk of inspiration for Iron Meat. It’s a relentless run ‘n gunner starring a battle-hardened hero – one who’s able to tuck themselves neatly into a ball while jumping – and features weapon drops carried into battle by flying drones. The main difference here is the buckets of gore, with a theme true to the game’s title that sees man and machine combining. You’re up against tanks, helicopters, and even subway carts brought to life by manmade organic tissue barely clinging to their metallic hosts, making for quite a grotesque experience. This wouldn’t have passed Nintendo’s censors in the 16-bit era, let alone the 8-bit."
