When Sega announced the western release of Yakuza Kiwami 2, the audience in attendance at the event went bonkers with joy.
Here's the thing though... We've all known it was coming already.
But we didn’t know this soon. From Japanese original release to localization, it’s only 8 months. That’s incredibly fast for a Yakuza game.
If you're a hardcore fan, you'd learn Japanese.
As someone who speaks Japanese decently enough to get by, this is the silliest thing I hear rather often about this. Learning to speak Japanese is hard enough. Learning to read Japanese well enough to enjoy a game that's not 100% voice acted is an incredibly time-consuming engagement that most definitely not everyone can afford. A game like Yakuza requires at the *very* least university-level Japanese to be able to understand the variety of kanji, and that's not something being a "hardcore fan" is enough to learn.
Gotta be hardcore, bro
Did I offend you? You know I was being sarcastic, right? Majority of weabs I know don't even try to pick up the culture, they just appreciate it in their own way. Like Japanese tourists coming over here and wearing Mickey Mouse hats and saying YOLO and Swag.
Don't know a lick of Japanese, but I love me some Japanese culture. Love that games are being localized for Western release, but I personally wouldn't get wet over it like the crowd in the video. But this is great for future release, hope it does well..
