If you’ve been itching to play A Way Out in March, then We Were Here Too and other multiplayer titles released last month will be able to keep you entertained while you wait these last few weeks.
A new report reveals multiplayer gaming dominates the industry, with 64% of developers working on online games.
A lot of those games fail. Companies are forcing it through because they people to continuously buy microtransactions. Also they don't need to focus on any artistic elements — just throw some garbage out there and make money.
Just give us SOCOM sony! Have skins for sale (weapons) and no cartoon crap. We'll play it!
Shaz from GL: "There was a time where every great multiplayer shooter came with a memorable single-player campaign; such a thing, unfortunately, no longer exists."
Concord's Trailer makes me worried, what were Sony thinking. Single player for all the glory. This screams profit loss.
At least its live service Done right: Charge for the game, then provide regular free updates
compared to: Make game free, then gouge micro transactions that are basically a necessity to win because al the best stuff has a small cost, then its basically who ever pays most, wins, at least with this everyones on the same playbook.
The game is story based though, it's going to have free story updates many will probably coincide with new character additions.
While I do love when devs make a complete experience with a sp and mp like Gears, Halo and cod, that wasn't always the case. There were mp only games like quake and unreal. But I do really hate when these devs blueball us with cool characters and lore only to limit them to a 2 minute cutscene every 3 months if we're lucky. Apex and overwatch would make for an interesting campaign.
Only a month after Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty spoke on Halo Infinite’s lackluster live service updates and of restructuring coming to developer 343 Industries, another senior figure has departed the company.
Today, Tom French announced that he would be stepping away as multiplayer creative director on Halo Infinite, pulling the curtains on a career developing Halo titles that spanned more than 11 years.
Lol. 343 needs to shut down and mcsft needs to get a QUALITY new studio to work on halo.
They've lost an incredibly concerning amount of leads and senior level staff since Infinite launched. The game also isn't performing well. It is the 18th most played game on Xbox and the game peaked at 5000 players on Steam today. At this point, MS should end support for the game at the end of 2023 and just reboot the franchise. Halo seriously needs a GOW 2018 type reboot.
