Kingdom Come: Deliverance | Review - SquareXO

SquareXO Writes: Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a game which flew well under my radar. Coming from a lesser known developer in Warhorse Studios, which Kickstarted the title back in 2014 and was funded to the tune of £1.1 million. It’s a title I, most likely at the time, thought would be underwhelming at best. Oh, how wrong I was.

I bought it day1 and played a couple hours. I didn’t run into anything gamebreaking but I decided to wait a few months anyways. I’ll start over with the patches.

starchild2640d ago

Agreed. It's a great game that happens to be somewhat rough technically speaking.

wotta2640d ago

I never encountered any bugs really. It’s a great game.

Maybe the patches released so far have made it better.

opinionated2640d ago (Edited 2640d ago )

Yup. I ran into that with Witcher 3. It wasn’t a bad game by any means but the changes they made throughout the patches made the game 100 times better. I was already a 100 hours in when this stuff started rolling out and I was like “damn I wish I had that in my playthrough” lol.

That's a terrible decision. Just adding a higher frame rate options or next gen latch would generate a ton of interest from new players.

Still have Forspoken and KC:Deliverance on my huge backlog list. Don’t know when I’m going to get around to them though.

7 and 4 are the only 2 I played on this list and even regardless of their negative press. I had a blast with both games, and I have no regrets with them.

Alpha Protocol. Obsidian needed more time with that one I think.

RaidenBlack88d ago

Yep, Alpha Protocol is pretty unique. A spy-thriller-RPG. A pretty rare theme.
But the development wasn't smooth, and needed more time.
One of the few 7th gen titles that I support for a proper Remake, so that the gaming world gets something unique.

Hilarious to me how Kingdom Come 2 has scored well so far when the first was attacked by the same sites that apparently enjoyed the second. Glad they could make a sequel cause so many games have been the target of journo slander and been denied the chance.

I thought Darksiders 3 and Vampyr were great.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Reportedly Banned in Saudi Arabia for “Unskippable Gay Scenes”

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is set to be released at the start of February in most areas of the world but it may have already received a ban in Saudi Arabia. This apparent ban is due to “unskippable gay scenes” that are found in the game’s story mode. Hints about the ban came a few days prior, but multiple news outlets are now reporting that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has officially been banned in the country.

We need to appreciate the strict rules of Islam, but we also need to appreciate the amazing freedoms we enjoy. Lets be thankful and appreciative of our friends.

lelo2play123d ago (Edited 123d ago )

Too much freedom is also bad. People think they can do whatever they want without consequences.
Too much freedom = lawlessness.

GotGame818123d ago

What 2 people do behind closed doors doesn't= lawlessness! Your selfie explains everything!

No freedom at all = Islamic states.

No thanks. The more freedom, the better.

What Freedom? Even a Twitter/X comment could get you arrested in Europe, especially the UK, and America.

@Behunted

"Even a Twitter/X comment could get you arrested in Europe, especially the UK, and America."

I mean terroristic threats are crimes and yes you can get arrested for making them. Yes, there are limits to free speech. But outside of posing a risk to other people you are free to say whatever you want. Its a rationale approach for sure. Free speech doesn't mean absolute freedom. You are not free to bring harm to other people usign your words.
