Unreasonably odds for the new PUBG loot box items.

I love this game but that's extreme, I hope they change this.

Eonjay2270d ago

Thats beyond extreme. When you start to exceed the most optimistic of human expiration dates what is the point of even making it possible. Just demand people buy empty loot boxes. Someone will defend it. They can't help themselves.

I know it's only cosmetic, but that seems ridiculous. They should design it so that no single piece should take more than a year to unlock, IMHO (assuming 2,000 hours of gameplay equals one year).

rainslacker2269d ago

2000 hours? That's an excessive amount of time for any unlock. Particularly since there are other unlocks that people would want to get. When the average MP player probably won't play that much on any single game that has copious content and several expansions.....like say COD, it doesn't make sense.

Unlocks should be achievable in a reasonable time frame. A game has to respect the players time, and make things feel like they're achievable, because very few people are going to care enough to even play a game for more than 100 hours.

Christopher2269d ago (Edited 2269d ago )

Note that 2,000 hours would be the max time based on poor RNG, which lootboxes have to design around.

I'm not really supporting long times, but even something intended to be the rarest of the rare should be obtainable within a timeframe by everyone who achieves that time frame. That doesn't mean it wouldn't be gotten within 1 day by some and 400 hours or so by almost every person. It also doesn't mean they wouldn't achieve less rare items within that time as well.

The 2,000 hour is based on standard MMO F2P concepts. I don't have a frame of expectation with MP games like PUBG, tbh.

XiNatsuDragnel2271d ago

Ok hell no MTs in 60 dollar games hell no. Loot boxes in any priced a definitely no no

Atticus_finch2270d ago

Yea, $30 more than it should be.

Prince_TFK2270d ago

@Atticus
Why don’t they just give it to you for free and then become your slave for the rest of their lives while you’re at it?

Princess_Pilfer2270d ago (Edited 2270d ago )

@Kun_ADR

Yes, free to play games aren't a thing. Expensive, successful, AAA quality free to play games that don't rely on lootboxes as their primary source of money (seeing as they don't have them) aren't a thing either. Warframe doesn't exist!

Oh, oh wait, no, that's wrong, and your argument is stupid.

I'll stick with Fortnite, lol.

WilliamSheridan2270d ago

Yeah, Fortnite charges you way more for their loot... And you get smaller arenas. Awesome

Atticus_finch2270d ago

Fortnite is a finished game and free to play btw

Dark_Knightmare22270d ago

Fortnite is finished,its ftp,its better balanced,a hell of a lot more optimized and funnier imo.

WilliamSheridan2270d ago

Definitely funnier, but it's a smaller game. We all have our preferences though...

Rachel_Alucard2269d ago

@atticus
@dark

What are you guys smoking? That game is literally unlaunched and unreleased and the save the world mode is stuck being sidelined while BR mode is being frontlined despite being rushed out and free to compete with pubgs market. Hell thats the only reason its even got a playerbase is because its free and on console.

It's a cosmetic... Seriously... I played Fortnite early on and man the chances of getting a legendary weapon was ridiculously low. Alsup almost always paid for. I played Fortnite again recently in battle Royale mode, and man is that map tiny or what? Anyway...

Who cares, it's a cosmetic

Gazondaily2270d ago

Evidently a lot of Fortnite players 🤣

WilliamSheridan2270d ago

I don't get how people can argue Fortnite is better, or even as good! Tiny map, cartoon world, no excitement.

Anyway,I don't care about a cosmetic item. It can take a million years for all I care, the game is incredibly fun.

I don't get how Pubg fans like yourself can't comprehend that people enjoy what they want to enjoy. I much prefer Fortnite over Pubg but I don't go around shouting about it. Judging by the dropping player count on Pubg and quickly growing count on Fortnite I'd say a lot of people agree too.

WilliamSheridan2270d ago

Yet here you are... Doing exactly what you claim you don't do

ocelot072270d ago (Edited 2270d ago )

"Fortnite early on and man the chances of getting a legendary weapon was ridiculously low. Alsup almost always paid for"

Wait you can't buy weapons with real money in fortnite what are you on about? Just to be clear we are talking about battle royal here right? Legendary weapons can be found in chests. I don't think I have ever had a game where I have not come across a legendary weapon. Except for the times where I have died within 2 minutes of the game.

WilliamSheridan2270d ago

Perhaps you aren't familiar with the other side of Fortnite?

UCForce2270d ago

You can’t buy weapon in Fronite store. Those weapon only appear in playing field.

WilliamSheridan2270d ago

PvE

Also you can definitely spend a fortune on Fortnite

UCForce2270d ago

In the end, do you really think PUGB can live that long ? I’m maybe sound hypocrites, but Bluehole trying to play God.
