Fumito Ueda’s & George Kamitani’s games aren’t known to be huge sellers, they’re just really well known.

Abriael2673d ago (Edited 2673d ago )

Dragon's Crown sold fairly well when it launched (almost 200,000 copies, and it nearly sold out). The problem here is IMHO that the Pro version really doesn't add much besides more pixels, and the PS3 and PS Vita versions got updated with all the (few) new tweaks.

Unless you really care about resolution, there's no reason to buy the new one.

When did Dragon Crown PS3 got updated to match this new version. And regarding PS3 resolution the game runs at 1080p 60fps on the PS3 right?

Abriael2673d ago (Edited 2673d ago )

@deadfrag: same day as release of DCP in Japan. Not sure if it happened in the west too. I didn't check, but if it didn't yet, it'll most probably happen when DCP launches here.

Of course, the update doesn't include the new resolution.

Dragons Crown sold 1.5 to 2 million copies bro.
SOTC on PS2 sold around the same numbers
So its all good.
But these are upgraded versions so ...

@ Abriael & Super

I didn’t say all games under those directors sold poorly, only that they aren’t always known to direct huge sellers.

MH is a Japanese titan. No real challengers to it apart from Pokemon or DQ

Dragon’s Crown and SotC are remakes/re-releases, so their sales can be very hard to predict. Also releasing near such a huge title like MHW doesn’t help matters.
That said, I’ll be buying Dragon’s Crown day 1 when it releases here in Australia as it’s my favourite Vita game and one of my favourite PS3 games.
I just hope there’s a separate trophy list as I have the Platinum for the PS3/PSV.

This game is great.. Already have around 115 hours in and havent even completed the main story line.. Ive been playing with a lot of people from japan picking up their techniques along the way.. Im sure this game is going to sell like crazy out there.. Hopefully in the west it keeps up the momentum too so we can see sequels.. The franchise has been gone from playstation for too long.. It needed to be made with modern console power

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil35d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

He's been in most, if not all the games and is iconic to the series. I guess he can be considered the unofficial mascot but every game has its own unique monster as the poster boy.

Because you had fun. I started Monster Hunter with my son on PSP 17 years ago. We put a ton of hours into the games since then. Never did I look back at any game I’ve sunk a lot of hours into and think, I might regret having all that fun.
