Good points! I don't think that they'll use the playstore games though, at least not with Phil Harrison involved.

porkChop2674d ago

Yeah I don't it would just be mobile games. Those types of Android consoles have always failed. Google knows that.

I don't know if I'll buy it, but I'm curious to see what they do with this thing.

gutteranthems2674d ago

I'd be very interested to see their exclusives

PressXtoBacon2674d ago

I'll remain open minded. I thought that Switch was going to fail and look how wrong I was

PowerOfTheCloud2674d ago

Gutteranthems
Google won't have exclusives because everyone while buy their device to play games the can already play on their platform of choice. Exclusives are not imporant. /s

rainslacker2674d ago

It'd be interesting to see if they team up with Amazon as they're also wanting to get into the gaming industry more. Google could of course offer up exclusives, and I wouldn't put it past them to start with some sort of mobile style console like we've seen in the past....but with more functionality. I can easily see Google wanting to merge their store into one, not unlike MS is doing now. Of course, this would require developer support to make their game to support different control methods.

can you even imagine on a first-party Google game? I think they are forgetting the main defining factor that differs one console from the other

PressXtoBacon2674d ago

characters?

I definitely asked myself this a few times.

paintedgamer19842674d ago

Im honestly confused why they wouldnt want to download the games vs streaming... i get why streaming is easier to tackle but i feel the games would run much smoother downloading them. Ive used ps now and the issues that it brings arent as desired. But, im sure google has done its research i just wish they would give consumers the option to download their games if they ha e the internet capability to do so.

gutteranthems2674d ago

I agree with you. I live in Brooklyn and let me tell you, PS Now is a nightmare. NYC just doesn't get the speeds from providers that it should. With Google's influence in sure they could get some good prices from a HDD manufacturer

Gamist2dot02674d ago

Google have their own fiber optic service (more reliable and faster than cable) so I wouldn't be surprised in a year or two, or three, streaming won't be an issue if you have their service.

gutteranthems2674d ago

Well yes, but they've been slowly rolling it out to cities. NYC would be such a big infrastructure undertaking that I don't see it happening for a long time

rainslacker2674d ago (Edited 2674d ago )

But it'd be hard to make a successful console if it's really only useful on their own service. Google more than most companies tend to not lock their products behind additional requirements, and are very much into keeping things open

Sony just needs to up its resolution and framerate and it'll be quite the service, still don't like streaming though so doesn't really matter to me.

SpaceRanger1951d ago

Why is Xbox GamePass on this? Not a streaming service.

CaptainCook1951d ago

Xcloud will be included with Xbox Game Pass this year

RazzerRedux1951d ago

And they announced that.....when?

CaptainCook1951d ago (Edited 1951d ago )

@RazzerRedus
Here's the link from the engineers themselves talking about Xcloud at Xbox London Event 2019.

"There's 2 things.. We are going to give you the games you own from the cloud or the games you've purchased in the future, and we will bring Game streaming to Xbox Game Pass so you are Free to discover and play anywhere and everywhere"

SpaceRanger1951d ago

Once again, why is Xbox GamePass on this? Your comment only further proves my point.

RazzerRedux1951d ago

@CaptainCook

Thanks. I missed that announcement obviously.

Neither is Uplay or Origin. "Journalism"

2pacalypsenow1951d ago (Edited 1951d ago )

The only game streaming services are PS Now, Stadia and GeForce Now.

Xbox Game pass, Uplay plus and Origin aren’t streaming.

badz1491953d ago

it's not over 9000 though

Father__Merrin1954d ago

these cretins are all over ebay you search for a game key and something cheap comes up once you click on the post its actually not a game key but rather access to a account. theres no option on ebay to report them

arkard1954d ago (Edited 1954d ago )

Should be, what does not participate in digital sales (unless something changed im unaware of) so a sale like that is against there terms and conditions

I was wrong, they do allow digital items now.
https://www.ebay.com/help/p...

But I checked and there is still a reporting tool on the mobile website at least. You have to scroll pretty far down to get to it though

nucky641954d ago

not sure about that. i used to sell digital codes from blu ray movies i bought. i never used them so it seemed like a waste. i usually put them up for sale for a third of what the entire movie package cost me. the last time i tried to do this (around 2 months ago) i get message that trying to sell digital copies isn't allowed.

nucky641954d ago

so true. i was always curious as to how people were allowed to do that. now i know - they aren't supposed to.

Cyb3r1954d ago

Some websites sell accounts too Im surprised that noting is being done about this

JackBNimble1954d ago

And they're all stolen accounts

1954d ago
JackBNimble1954d ago

Why are they calling this trading accounts, this is plain and simply stealing.
