anyone else getting tired of not seeing any footage of this game by now?

Fishy Fingers2678d ago

They’ve confirmed that they’ll be at E3 so I expect that’s the best bet for anything substantial.

sampsonon2678d ago

let's hope so because I'm starting to lose interest.

starchild2678d ago

Yeah, but that's what we get thanks to all the people that cried so dramatically and incessantly about perceived downgrades in The Witcher 3.

For the developers it's a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' kind of thing. If they show off the game early people will be happy and excited to see the footage, but if anything changes during development people will make a huge deal about it. On the other hand, if they wait until closer to release to show off the game people complain that they are taking too long to show us how it looks.

_-EDMIX-_2678d ago

Lol yes! I remember when you and I we're telling these comments to seriously calm down about the downgrades.

CD projekt Red apologized about the situation and had a logical reason behind the downgrade, I think they are correct to probably wait until they have a more finalized build before they show the game. I think at this stage of the generation it's actually more likely that the footage we see will be closer to the final thing considering they're probably using a more complete engine similar to what they used for The Witcher 3. I would argue most development teams second game during a generation is not going to go through all of the same crazy mishaps creating the engine compared to the first.

Strafe2678d ago (Edited 2678d ago )

Would you argue that Edmix? Would you?

I would consider that you do.

EDIT: Sooooooooooo I would.

mogwaii2678d ago

The fact remains they showed a game looking amazing then downgraded it. They knew like every other dev thats done it knew what they were doing.

_-EDMIX-_2678d ago

@Mogwaii-completely agreed nobody is denying that.

They showed this game off very early before they implemented a bunch of other features that took up GPU and they definitely paid the price with the controversy.

@strafe- um. Ok, I don't even really understand what that means to be honest. But....ok lol

sampsonon2678d ago

well why don't they do what Sony devs seem to be able to do and that's make their games look better than the original showing? i don't know how many times people tried to bash sony games like the order, horizon, infamous ss, and so on saying the game's graphics look downgraded from one E3 to the next only to have the games come out and astonish the community. i could post examples but everyone knows what I'm talking about.

I think Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably the most anticipated single player game right now. Considering the boatload of games Rockstar sells with their series such as GTA, I'm betting that RDD2 will be the game of the year. However, that's all based on if CD Project Red can steal the hype with their e3 showing. It will take a lot but considering what they did with the Witcher 3 which was absolutely astounding, they could possibly do it.

_-EDMIX-_2678d ago

Well I believe Red Dead Redemption 2 excitement and anticipation is warranted because we have a good understanding entrust about what is going to entail.

This game it's a bit difficult because so many people are excited about what they want the game to be I believe we still need to actually see something.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 it is based on an existing concept and idea in which people are more familiar and have a good grasp and understanding about what to look forward to.

But the way I see it I don't really believe this is some sort of contest, I'm looking forward to both games for different reasons.

I'm excited for what I already know Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be like, but I'm also excited as what cyberpunk could be.

What do sales have anything to do with game of the year?

johndoe112112678d ago

This isn't the most anticipated video game.

Stanjara2678d ago

Don't show anything. I want to be blown away!

getbacktogaming2678d ago (Edited 2678d ago )

why can't we have both? Be shown something and be blown away?!

Releasing a Full Game On a Nintendo Switch 2 Cart Makes Sense

Begone, game-key carts. Full cartridges just work better and here's why.

Game key karts are just digital games.....why keep up the facade

Profchaos2d ago

I didn't bother buying any game key carts for my system despite my preference being physical.
I brought the mkw bundle and that was a digital code but I wasn't going to pay double for the game
I got yakuza 0 digitally as the key card made zero sense to me it costs more and its just a digital game in disguise (I never sell my games anyhow)

darthv722d ago

...obviously. If a game is 64gb or less, it should release on card. If it exceeds 64gb, the key card comes into play. It does suck that Nintendo wont support smaller cards, SW1 games came on anywhere from 8gb to 32gb cards. The cost of using a 64gb card for a game that would fit comfortably on a 32 or even 16 may not be cost effective for some smaller devs. Hence the use of the key card.

Then again, its taking a page out of Sony's book. They mandated the use of DVD media for all games a few years after the PS2 released. Until then, they supported games on CD. Then when it came to PS3, no game was allowed to use DVD, they all had to be bluray regardless.

Now with PS5, they only use UHD media, no regular bluray for games allowed. Even if the game is smaller than a DVD. So i can see Nintendo trying to standardize their game cards. If devs dont want to pay for the use... the key card is for them.

gigoran81d 23h ago

why even bother buying one of the fake game cards? It's just going to be digital anyway. Save yourself the hassle of having to insert these fake cards and just buy it from the online store.

But I absolutely 100% do not agree with Nintendos take this generation. Forcing the new norm price point, and releasing a majority of their titles digitally with no sense of game preservation. Very disappointing.
