Capcom just announced officially that Monster Hunter World has passed six million shipments worldwide, including retail and digital downloads.
That's what happens when you make an excellent game, congrats Capcom
Favorite game this gen. The attention to detail is astonishing!!! Played D2 since launch and haven't looked back since MHW.
Exactly! If you build a great game without trying to screw over your target audience with LCs and MTs, you will be rewarded with fan support and sales (most of the time). You will also build trust and support for your brand moving forward. Just look at Naughty Dog and FromSoftware.
And I hit 6 million hours playing It! Seriously it would be more but work really gets in the way.
I am addicted to this game. Haven't been obsessed with a game like i am with this one in a LONG time. I can't stop thinking about playing it. I'd forgotten how it felt to be swept up in a game like this.
Very true, it has been a while since I couldn't get a game out of my head. I'm always planning skill sets and weapons to get/use.
Did they just ship a million more units in the past two weeks
That makes this Capcom’s fastest selling game of all time
Not bad, Capcom's risk of dumbing the game down for the west payed off. I'm enjoying it although game is a bit on the easy side.
Having never played any previous Monster Hunter games, I can't imagine what they "dumbed down". The game is ridiculously complex.
The other games in the series are more complex, if you can imagine that. I’m glad they stripped down the complexity a bit for World.
can't agree with you more.. so much I still have no clue about.. lol but loving the game so far.
Well if they release G rank difficulty, you will understand how tough monster hunter world can really be.
They haven't really dumbed it down. They've tightened the hit boxes (which were pretty terrible in some of the older entries) and we don't have G Rank quests, that's all.
dumbed down from a mobile game?
I’m willing to bet that more than 5 million of those are PS4 copies.
Without a doubt!
I'm not sure it is #1 for paid games on xbox. So must have a good amount of sales
That just means that there’s not much else to buy on Xbone right now. I sincerely doubt that this fame has sold over a million on Xbone.
@dialga so wouldn't not having that much to buy increase the chances of someone buying monster Hunter lol
You could be right. Japan accounts for like 2 million of that 6 million alone.
I though RPG and "non-western" games are jusr lagacies and don't sell anymore.
This is not An RPG Edit: it actually is. My bad! Well at least on Ps4 they haven’t been an issue in the west
Its on PS4 and Xbox that is why.
It's pretty western in style, that helped the Souls series as well I'd wager. If they were both in the usual jrpg style, I would expect both would've been niche at best.
I only brought it for the Horizon zero Dawn gear. It's good, but i think this game is really over hyped.
Nice! It took a while for MH to come back home to PS but was worth the wait while they tried perfecting the formula.. Capcom is on a roll.. Im loving Street fighter 5 AE, this, Okami HD, and like RE7.. We have arcade perfect Street fighter collection, megaman 11, & RE2 remake to look forward to as well.. I would like to see a strider sequel too..
Capcom have made some bad mistakes in recent years, but they really seem like they're trying very hard to turn it around. They've pretty much fixed Street Fighter V, they announced a new Megaman game for the fans (even though I'm not really into that series) and now they've nailed it with an incredible and more accessible Monster Hunter game which isn't being held back by shitty handheld system hardware.
