I just can’t compete with these assholes...

princejb1342060d ago

agree. As much as i want this game, i fear that the a holes who play this game alot will ruin the fun out of it. Thats the only problem i have with some fighting games, those very long combos that demolish casual players

MrChow6662060d ago

same here, the game looks absolutely gorgeus but I dont usually play fighting games and I feel that I would get more frustation than enjoyment out of it

Eonjay2060d ago

I have been practicing and been playing with my roommates. I will go online in a litle bit but it doesn't seem too bad... yet.

Eien2060d ago

Well, not to be insulting, but you obviously havn't been keeping up with the game. What he did isn't hard even for casual players. He used 18, a really good character, activated sparkling blast (all four buttons), did her bread and butter combo which you can learn in a day, spammed his super attacks which you need a lot of energy to do which was literally quarter circle and then pressing a button 4 times. DBFZ is an entry point for people to get into fighting games. If this scares you then you aren't cut out for the genre at all cause it wont get easier then this.

Why are you two calling people assholes just because they're good at the game?

stokedAF2059d ago

It’s fantastic. There is enough single player and local content to justify the 60 dollar price tag imo. If you are a fan of dragon ball or fighting games at all then it’s worth it. You will have to practice and deal with spam to play in the world rankings stuff, that’s any fighting game though.

What you and the majority that upvoted your post is, combos like this in reality essentially are possible in a real match.

This preconceived fear is really weird. The community just like very other game has people just at the level you are. No fighting game is miraculously only filled with Gods that destroy everyone.

Fighting games are mostly a social thing, if you don't have friends, don't want friends, the AI for instance in this game can more than make up for the deficiency someone may lack as a typically functioning human (a social creature in essence).

Rarely are people looking to trash on you if you're a new player. There are communities that are some of the most welcoming folks I've ever seen. Even though I don't play games much, going into a fighting game from time to time these days is always fun.

The worst problem you may encounter in a game like this, is rage quitters (people leaving last second before they lose). The game recently came out so setting up systems for serious matchmaking might take some time till they iron out technical issues first and foremost.

But this fear of getting rekt is preposterous. Everyone gets rekt. Fighting games are mostly about the journey rather than just winning. Winning a match against someone is a fleeting feeling, because matches are only a few minutes. It's not like a MOBA where you have to throw away at least 30 mins of your life per game and maybe lose. Losing a few rounds cost you little (in fact you maybe learned more than you ever could simply winning against someone who's your inferior).

Everyone that thinks the way you do is (from my perspective unfortunately) doing themselves a disservice. Especially considering most of you speak from the outside, having not even touched the games themselves. There are SO many first time fighting game players that started with this game, you're not alone in the same skill level, nor are you alone at all really, there are always people willing to help enjoy the game with you if you simply seek them out.

I speak as someone who started with the same ignorant viewpoint you currently hold. I speak out of sincerity. I'm not trying to be insulting at all, so I hope you don't take much offense. Or the others that feel the same way.

To be fair the 'deadly combo' is not very hard to do with practice, also with the way DragonBall FighterZ has the combos you can charge up the Ki with attacks and perform 5000+ damage combos easily (for example the teen Gohan Kamehameha quarter circle back and hold R1 combo using 5 bars of Ki (the attack which references his finisher against Cell final form in the anime) takes 6000+ damage (the 3 bars of Ki standard version takes like 4000+ damage)), far easier to perform and memorise than for example Demon Rage or Saikyo Crusher in Street Fighter Alpha 3.

1. Super Gokuden 1 & 2
2. Hyper Dimension
3. Budokai 3
4. Budokai Tenkaichi 3
5. Legacy of Goku 1 & 2
6. Infinite Worlds
7. Raging Blast 2
8. Attack of the Saiyans
9. Fusions
10. Xenoverse 2
11. Supersonic Warriors 2

Hyper Dimension was so good, also loved the Super Botouden games.

ZeekQuattro68d ago

I forgot about those. Extreme Butoden was also good. It came with Super Butoden 2 now that I think about it. SB 2 was my favorite one as a kid as it featured Broly.
