Bluepoint have a sterling reputation (that SotC will only enhance further), and they have said before that they have a queue of projects lined up. Near-constant demand to remake and remaster games for various publishers. They can basically afford to pick and choose projects that they want to work on.

The fact that they are working on passion projects probably contributes to the quality of their work, so in that sense it would be a shame if they were bought out by Sony or anyone else.

Just hope whatever game you are nostalgic for gets the nod from them :)

Bluepoint does a lot for Sony, but I think they should remain independent. They can only work on so many remakes/ remasters. The day they buy them is the day they just say screw BC entirely and we'll be paying for remakes/ remasters. Great developers, but I think it's in everyone's best interest for them to stay independent.

It's a masterpiece. One of my favorite games of all time. It's so great to see what they've achieved on the PS4 and know that the game will reach many more people that have never played it before.

I'm happy to see it receive such incredible scores (93 Metacritic). SotC is a game that truly deserved the BuePoint remake treatment and it's amazing to see it shine. February 6th SotC and April 20th God of War, not a bad start for 2018 by Sony. It's nice to see a company that puts games first.

The original is 91 on Metacritic for PS2. Its at 92 on PS3 and sitting at 93 on PS4. Its strange to see all the people that are against free backwards compatibility with enhancements so excited to play an old game for the third time around.

I complain that Zelda: Breath of the wild was overrated but never said people were blind because of nostalgia. I found that an open world feel empty, the weapons are useless especially the master sword and shield and the caves was fun the first few times but it got boring. The boss fight were too easy especially the final fight. And expected an amazing story like previous game. I consider The legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as the best Zelda game and if this game get a Remake then I would give it a high score, not only for nostalgia but because it was the most funnest, amazing story.

This is an amazing and satisfying game. One I will forever keep in my gaming collection (still in mint condition I might add ;p). You won't regret beating this masterpiece. The game play might look simple in videos but when you are playing it you will FEEL the game play. It has it's own unique feel and it's truly satisfying. You will feel a sense of accomplishment and I crave that in my games. One of Sony's very best and a defining moment for them as a publisher. They definitely earned my respect as a publisher back when I first played this. I literally was like, OK I see you Sony...lol. I give it as close to a 10 as I possibly can given only a few flaws from the PS2 version. No matter what score you see, Shadow Of The Colossus is a classic masterpiece. Enjoy!!!

They are amazing for sure, they created an in-house art team to make the art assets of this game, since this is a remake and not a remaster as IGN claims... Remaster means porting original assets and and code to the specifications of a new generation hardware, ie SOTC/Ico Remaster for PS3 which they were responsible for. With this game however, they looked the PS2 code, recreated the game in a brand new Engine and crafted new assets, control schemes, lighting and physics tailor made to PS4.
