A reddit sub user has brought to the public's attention that a Netflix Original video may have a near identical soundtrack to Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3. Take a listen to the music samples provided and be the judge for yourself.
Sounds like they ripped it off to me.
Sony can actually sued Netflix for ripping off their soundtrack. I wouldn't be surprised, if it happens soon.
More that can hear this awesome music the better I say . And probably Sony too. Seeing how many people will flock to the uncharted games because of the music. So a win win really .
"Science and Magic" is one of my favorite tracks in the game. It's definitely used in the Netflix trailer.
Disagree. Netflix can do as they please.
It like saying that I can break inside your house, sleep in your bed, eat your food and use your Netflix account without your permission. Just because I can do as I please.
dont forget to talk about his wife! xD
Actually copyright laws say otherwise.
You're such a Sony troll fanboy bro grow up and get a life. I mean what you just said sounds ridiculous as hell . It would be like me saying I'm coming to your house and I'm going to smack you right in your mouth because I can do as I please even though I would be in the wrong.
Don't be ridiculous.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your winner for the 'Most Deluded Comment on N4G - January 2017' award, TheColbertinator! 'Netflix can do as they please'? Do you own shares in Netflix? Have you heard of patents and copyrights?
"Ladies and Gentlemen, your winner for the 'Most Deluded Comment on N4G - January 2017' award, TheColbertinator! 'Netflix can do as they please'? Do you own shares in Netflix? Have you heard of patents and copyrights?" So his remark January of last year was his most Deluded?
Playboy, not much to game and to do on Xbox?? Aside from PUBG??
poor copy and paste job, should have used Logic pro, Fl studio or any other audiovisual software to make it less blatant they stole the soundtrack.
Stole? Where is your proof that they did not license the track?
Read the article they asked Naught Dog for clarification and ND went around asking people in the office if this was approved or not that tells you ND is unaware of this situation. I mean c'mon now if you were able to read my comment you should be more then capable of reading the article itself.
@Sunny " Stole? Where is your proof that they did not license the track?" If you actually read the Reddit post that was linked in the article the poster specifically says he reached out to Naughty Dog and they said they were unaware that Netflix had used their track and are looking into it. So yeah I would agree 'stole' is 100% the right words. If the game producer themselves are unaware of its use then it definitely was not licensed to Netflix for use.
Put your pitch forks away, it’s probably licensed to the show.
Yes, I've heard Last of Us in documentaries, Gravity Rush in commercials and Uncharted in almost everything.
There was that local TV channel used Dynasty Warrior menu track in their own flashes 😂.
We don't take kindly to people who think things through logically around here!
If it was licensed, wouldn't Naughty Dog know that? They clearly had no idea and are investigating. Let's hope for Netflix case, it's a misunderstanding.
In the article it says ND is unaware of it, so probably not.
I would assume Netflix would be smart enough to not just steal copyrighted music, but at least they picked a good one!
Damn, makes me want to fire up UC3 and play it again.
So much clickbait... Yes, many shows use music. Music is quite a big thing in movies and tv shows. What you should be checking is did they license the song? This clickbait article did none of that. Show me proof that it is unlicensed, then you have a story. Until then.. "NETFLIX show uses song from Uncharted in a trailer". BIG WHOOP
That's specifically why we reached out to Naughty Dog for a statement. They had no idea it was used. They are investigating but don't have any other comment at this time. All in the article.
Got em lol
Ive seen many Aussie TV programs blatantly rip video game music and put it in as ambient background music to news stories or current affair type shows. Happens all the time and doesnt surprise me that they dont pick these things up. The Last of Us soundtrack was pretty popular as backing music for our Channel 9 shows last year. No mention of the copyright allowance in the credits on any of the shows either. Don't know how the game companies go about lawsuits for these things but good luck to them if they can get anything out of it. They pay a good whack of money to these poor musicians to pour their heart and soul into some of these awesome tracks we hear, and lazy studio execs and sound engineers put no effort into what they get paid to do by ripping the game music directly and pasting it in like it is their works.
Probably licensed. Here's Letterman using Robotech songs on one of his bits: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Funny that the trailer is nowhere to be found on YouTube but all the other trailers for Netflix original shows can be found there. You can only see this particular trailer on Netflix itself. LOL!!
Lol, definitely sounds ripped off.
Its more than likely that they paid to use the tack you know
i want naughty dog to own netflix
So instead of actually finding out if they got permeation to use it, you just say they stole it. Ok.
