Early bird gets the worm? Or something like that. Haha

shaun mcwayne2438d ago

Yeah but the second mouse gets the cheese. Lol

Joel_Drake22437d ago

The full game will come out eventually. Now I'm hyped.

Jinger2438d ago

Huh, I remember this from E3, and I remember the stupid announcer being SUPER annoying during the gameplay. Glad to see it plays alright, but this is a sign the 'Battle Royal' genre is going to get over saturated so fast...

PressXtoBacon2438d ago

true. But so far I've really liked them. If this is as good as OP says, I'll take this over Fornite

SlySouls2438d ago

See, Fortnite has the stupid jump mechanic. I love everything about that game except that.

SlySouls2438d ago

It looked dumb af at the time but reading this gets me a bit excited.

PressXtoBacon2438d ago

Right? I'm just disappointed that I have to wait now

lptmg2437d ago

wasn't that bad when you compare him to that EA guy presenting NFS Payback

gutteranthems2437d ago

Hey y'all. I wrote this piece and am going to hang here for a bit. let me know if you have any questions about the game!

PressXtoBacon2437d ago

I liked crafting in TLoU multiplayer. Is it anything like that? It sounds.... restricted

gutteranthems2437d ago

In terms of the items you can craft, it definitely is more restricted. Not terribly so, but it's noticeable.

The crafting in The Last of Us. is designed to give players a growing advantage over the course of the match by creating different types of items out of the rarer and better resources. Darwin Project just gives you the two resources and allows you to stack stat bonuses on top of whatever you've already crafted, instead of creating a new kind of item.

Joel_Drake22437d ago

How are the combat (shooting etc) mechanics?

gutteranthems2437d ago

Interesting and definitely a cartoonish. There's significant knockback with each hit, both melee and projectile arrow shots. Melee makes sense, but I was surprised to see that with projectiles. However, it does make the game more interesting. It's a valid strategy to knockback your opponent, retreat to craft, and return better equipped. It doesn't get you TOO much time, but it's easy to run out of arrows and this is a great quick fix.

As for firing mechanics, they're pretty good, but you definitely feel like you're firing low velocity projectiles. Range is short, but can be upgraded, and there's a tremendous downward arc/lob effect.

Vasto2437d ago

Best Battleground game I have ever played.

I remember Press Play was working an a game like this before Microsoft gave them the snub.

gutteranthems2437d ago

I loved it. I'm hoping there are more features in the full release, outside of what they teased. Teams of two is cool and all, but I'm not sure it would hold my attention for a long time.

But they are DEFINITELY on the right track. Never had a bad game or an unpleasant crowd
