Fast travel mechanics have become common in open world games, but these worlds are best explored without them. Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 were two of my favorite titles even when I fast traveled, but they have become much better now that I'm on a self-imposed fast travel ban.

I can agree on every game except Breath of the Wild. That game is way to vast not to fast travel.

I'm all for being immersed in the game world but sometimes if I'm trying to complete a mission in a short amount of time (because I need to get back to real life), I need to sell off inventory, a quest is a really long drawn out go here, back to here, across the map, back and forth 7 times, or I have finished the story and just want to have fun I will use it. Everyone has different preferences though so there isn't a need to hate on fast travel if you don't want it then ignore it.
