Lufia: The Legend Returns' large cast makes the game stronger

Have [people] ever considered how unrealistic it is when [people] see games where a small group of heroes somehow topple gods and save the world? A group of four or six teenagers or young adults managing to do it all? It could be considered quite a stretch. Some games acknowledge this by offering a larger party to make their premise more plausible, but it is Lufia: The Legend Returns that goes above and beyond to present a solid cast. This game’s 12 heroes and heroines come together to strike down the Sinistrals in a way that makes a bit more sense.

The Most Underrated Game Boy RPGs

The Game Boy RPGs that received the most attention were Pokémon, but the system had a lot of other great titles from the genre. Some of these games shared names with major series, like Final Fantasy, but others came out of nowhere and found success.

Lufia: The Legend Returns is mind blowingly good for a gb game. One of my fave rpgs ever

Jiub848d ago

I would definitely consider selling a limb to get a modern Lufia game.

Did you play the DS remake of...Lufia 2 I think? Man, that game was weird.

Jiub848d ago

I saw that it was a remake and passed on it. I thought they would give it another shot at some point. Just saying, the Sinistrals would look crazy on good graphics.

What do you need to know about Lufia?

Sometimes, RPG series people love are lost to the sands of time. The developers that made them go out of business, other companies decide they are not profitable and age leads to them not getting a digital rerelease via a platform like the Virtual Console. Lufia is one of these series. But, while it is difficult to accumulate a complete collection of these games and get into them now, it is not impossible and many installments are worth your time.

I remember playing part one and two for SNES.

The SNES was seriously in a class of it's own back then.

Could not agree more. Pretty well anyone who wanted to play RPG's on a console had to get a SNES. To be fair the Sega Megadrive/Genesis had a decent collection of RPG's as well so having both consoles gave you the best of all worlds.

Lufia came in two parts.
1) Lufia & The Fortress of Doom
2) Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals

What is interesting is that Lufia II is actually a precursor to Lufia so if you really wanted linearity it would have been better to play Lufia II first.

BTW. There was a game called "Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals" which was a Nintendo DS remake of "Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals".

I think I remember playing Lufia 2 and realizing it came before part one.
