Sony Wants To Launch More Than 100 Games for PlayStation VR Before 2019

It is not a secret that Sony sees virtual reality as an important part of its business in the world of video games. If for any reason you have any doubt about this, we believe that you will be convinced to know that the company wants to launch more than 100 titles for PlayStation VR before 2019.

You know would be really awesome? A virtual reality game about going through the human body kind of like Bowser's Inside Story or Osmosis Jones or just something like that. And be really cool to basically Get shrunk down to go inside the human body.

I didn't buy VR because the games are a lot of steps back from what a full actual game can bring.
But I still hope that VR takes off with better technology on the next couple of years because the inmersión on VR makes everything enjoyable.

That may have been true in the first year, but not now. I currently own Skyrim, Driveclub, Arizona Sunshine, Eve: Valkyrie, Starblood Arena, Sports bar VR, Superhot, Rec Room (free, with crossplay), Farpoint with aim. Every single one of those games are more compelling than any flat screen game I have ever played. I cannot go back to "flat" games anymore. The games coming out are becoming more and more complex and immersive. Where you used to move a pixel around a flat screen, now you are that pixel. For those that haven't tried it, I can understand your caution, but it is the real deal. I spend hours at a time in VR now, and have never gotten motion sick. If you are susceptible to motion sickness, like on a boat or in the back of a car, then yes, you might feel it at first. But it is short lived and soon enough you will have your VR legs.

Can you really compare the experience of Drive Club for VR with the version of PS4?
Do you really like how you move on does games like Skyrim?
I hope that they can solve the problems but for now I will watch from outside.

@alb1899 Yes I can compare the experience of DC VR vs Base ps4 game. Yes, the graphics are not as good, but the gameplay is intact. The fun level and immersion is off the charts. I have no problem with Skyrim Controls, as it has Full Locomotion and again the immersion and fun level is way above the flat version. Until you actually experience this, you will not understand. When you are facing down a Dragon in Skyrim, while he is towering over you shooting fire at you and your hiding behind your shield... there is nothing in my 30+ years of gaming that can compare.

Great news now I have one, it's absolutely stunning. Star child, Moss blew my tiny mind can't wait for the release of these two. For me personally would love to see Sega bring Jurassic Worlds, or new gun games for the aim controller. Or more of ocean descent with interactions imagine an underwater adventure shooter with that immersion:)

I was One of the 1400 people that received the in-home trial. Prior to that, I was convinced I would never buy it. I actually changed my mind and then started experiencing a few technical issues. I called Sony support and was told that I had a first generation headset and that’s what was causing the issues with my HDR. He specifically asked me "is one of your cables marked with a number four?" and I said yes. He said "there’s your problem" unfortunately they are sending out these in-home trials with the outdated version of the hardware. I wound up sending mine back on the last day. That explains why they are $150 cheaper than they are in the store for the Skyrim bundle. I also found it interesting that the company handling the program (Prize Logic), was completely unresponsive to emails. They also didn't even ask why I wasn't keeping the system. I would think Sony would want the feedback for returned units.

Wait so you were convinced you would never buy it but took one of the 1400 spots of people who actually wanted to give it a try?
Then complain because they didn't send you the newest version available? Wowza
I think they already have herd the outcry for a break out box that handles HDR passthrough though.
Hence the V2 that is out now that has implemented HDR passthrough in the newer break out box, updated cables for the HDR pass through and they moved and better have implemented the headphone jack, further more cleaning up some wires in the setup.

(V2 move controllers as well)
I can say it's a big convenience to have the new version (V2) If you have an HDR capable tv.

But it's only because you do not have to disconnect and reconnect the break out box of the original version to get the HDR capabilities from a capable tv or to have other components in between to get the passthrough to work.

Really though that's it and that the newer setup is slightly cleaner wire wise.
But the other original V1 is perfectly fine for 1080p sets and 4k sets that do not have HDR capability, it also works with 4k HDR tv's but you have to go through a lil hassle to hook and unhook stuff when done playing VR.
So if it sold you except for the HDR passthrough issue you had and you sent the V1 back.

Why not head out and cough up the extra cash for the newer version (V2) or wait for a sale instead of complaining that you got a chance to try something YOU were convinced you would never buy.

Yet you liked it or it changed your mind, only issue or problem is that you received a V1 unit with no HDR passthrough so now you do not want it, come on now. You got to try it for free!
If you like it buy the new version that best supports your setup, I really do not see your problem..

My “problem” was actually more directed at the way the program was/is being handled. I actually will be buying one as soon as there is a bundle that appeals to me in content and price. Here is where I think they made mistakes.

1. If you are offering a free in-home trial, you must want people to buy the product. I would think you would want to send out the newer hardware so people don’t have issues. I wasn’t even aware there WAS a newer version until I called. There was nothing in the documentation included that talked about HDR issues.

2. Hire a better company to run your promotion. Like I mentioned, zero communication. A survey would have been useful.

3. The program is a great idea, like I said. Before trying it, I would never have thought of buying one. Then I get an email telling me that they will send it free along with a prepaid label to send it back. It was effortless from that standpoint, so I figured I might as well try it. As I mentioned before, I AM going to buy one because of this program. I was just a little surprised that they were sending outdated hardware when from everything I have read since, says that all Skyrim bundles included the V2 headset.

I'm not into PSVR in the slightest but this is great news for fans of PSVR knowing that Sony will continue support by flooding it with plenty of games.

I played Firewall: Zero hour at PSX and I have to say that I am looking forward to that game more than anything else next year in VR.
